    Krates

Got a picture? Sounds pretty odd. Only 2 speed cable actuated hubs I know of were the old Bendixs from the early 50s. Sure it wasn’t a 3 speed?

Single speed or 5 speed from the factory. If there’s a 2 speed the dealer or customer added it later.

    Western Flyer S7 26” tires $sold shipped

Essentially free, you just pay shipping. Offering before I toss them, in case anyone wants them. Cracks, yes but hold air and seem reasonably decent for a display bike. Thanks!

1965 Schwinn Heavy Duti King Size

I appreciate it @BOB LOBLAW but I think @Rusty Klunker, then @KingSized HD has dibs, haha! But I would like to keep it at this time. I love your username, though!

1965 Schwinn Heavy Duti King Size

A little progress. The replacement rear reflector came and so did the new tires. I went with the Sunlite cst241 tires as they’re big and tough looking. I also cleaned up the front wheel and removed an old bike license sticker on the rear fender that took forever to remove!

Sold SOLD Vintage Mesinger seat saddle pre war Schwinn Colson $45 shipped Murray bicycle bike leather

Nice old saddle in decent, straight shape. Solid, dry pan but obviously the cover has seen better days. Measures 12” long and 10” wide. Mesinger tab on back. Great project or use as is! Thanks!

    1985 Trek 720 Touring

Thanks for the kind words, @Maxacceleration! The seatpost will likely still go up a little bit before I actually ride it but I was feeling self conscience about that stem. It's bottomed out in the fork but still really high I felt. I am getting to the point where comfort is getting to be more of...

    1985 Trek 720 Touring

A little more progress on this, triple waxed the frame and fork and began to hang some parts on it. Much of my progress since the last post has been in sourcing parts, at this point I should have pretty much everything. The hardest part to find was the Dura Ace 7700 long cage rear derailleur...

1965 Schwinn Heavy Duti King Size

You bet! Middleweights used the 26x1 3/4 (S7) wheels and heavyweights used 26x2.125 (S2) wheels. There were some other differences over the years but that’s about the biggest one. Many models were offered as both over the years and the transition to middleweights began around 1956, 1957 for many...

1965 Schwinn Heavy Duti King Size

@Maxacceleration no problem! Yes, the King Size 20” frames were only offered 1962 through 1965 and only on the American and Heavy Duti models. All the other cantilever models you mentioned were the 18” standard frame size. The also offered 18” frame size Americans and Heavy Dutis in ‘62-‘65...

    Rolling Rock Cruiser

Ah yes! Those pop up on Craigslist occasionally. Maybe one year only before New Belgium went to Felt? to build their annual cruisers.

    Rolling Rock Cruiser

From that timeframe (late 1990s, early 2000s) I can only think of: Country time lemonade stingray (my neighbor has one) Is that Country time cruiser in this thread a real thing? Have not seen those before! Binford 6100 cruiser Rolling Rock cruiser Any I'm missing? Maybe some one-off regional...
