Barn Fresh! OG 1941 Spegiel Airman (Monark) Headlight Delete.

Just got back Friday night from Indiana. The people that helped dig this one out of barn storage contacted me approx. a week and a half ago wanting to know info about the bike, and if I was interested! Long story, short, I was in the truck and on my way Thursday morning to pick it up.

Years of dirt, grease, and cob webs adorn the bike. The OG paint, seat, and overall metal is in great shape. Needs some tweaking, pedals, kill the speedo, and tons of cleanup, but this one is Definitely Worth Every Minute!!!!!

All I can say is thank god for junkers/scrappers that know not to crush. The people I got this from showed me a couple pics of a real decent Super Deluxe that had been turned into the local junkyard and crushed from another property a few weeks before this bike was found.

I have a 1950's Airman girls bike that i bought off my buddy a couple years ago and these are quite rare. It's a damn shame about that super deluxe that met with such an untimely fate. I did buy a 24" super deluxe last year from a guy in Indiana. A great bike none the less. Enjoy your new find. Razin.

Have not started on this one yet, but getting my ducks in a row, while busy doing other things.
I think the "Headlight Delete" status has been solved. Found a 1942 Spegiel Airman ad that I believe could explain it. The 1942 Deluxe did have a headlight, but looks like it was a ball light mounted to the bottom tree. Don't believe I've seen a 1942 Airman before.
