Great original 52' Schwinn Hornet. It has a pair of NOS Hornet fenders on it. The rest of the paint is in great original condition. Both the light and horn work. Thanks but I wanna build up a couple bmx/cruiser type , so completes are out. Don’t want to part them out and rattle any cages !!!

Your right, here’s the serial number C44582. I looked it up and it said 52 - either it’s wrong or it has the wrong fenders and chain-guard. Let me know what you guys think...

Looks like the stamped drop out ended up in the time period of Schwinn's model year change over for 1954. That serial was used in three post war years, 1952-53 and 57. If it's a 57 it would be a middleweight version with S-7 rims. Tires look like middleweight Kenda's but I don't think Schwinn was using the 1" pitch drive train components that late and the 57 models were cantilever frames.
