The front wheel sure looks true and spins beautifully though...the rear one not so much.......I noticed the wheel/front fork got turned backwards in the picture. I had taken a picture of the headbadge and the little brass model plate beneath it but it came out dark so I never posted. seems like the front fork is nickle so wonder why they painted black then put the beautiful pinstripe on ....

Little brass tag says model 17. So will that help in dating?

Model 17 was 1898 for sure. Not sure if other years also. Original front was not radial laced.

Thanks for that web page....looks like it has steel handlebar option in D style .Will measure tomorrow to see if it is 20 or 22 inch frame. Nice read. I appreciate it Jo Bo

Looks like front hub not original as it has a stepped barrel hub and cat shows straight. Really nice bike though.

I see there is a brake arm but can't see the rest of the rear hub. Cat shows an optional National Automatic brake offered but does not show a brake arm for it so not sure what it may be without seeing more of it. If it is an NA, I think that's pretty rare.
