Wore out three sets of tires already!
I'm in the process of acquiring a bicycle that will cost about twice as much as I have ever spent on a bike. From my research, it seems that the correct tire for this bicycle is illustrated here, a blackwall Montgomery Ward Riverside 24 x 2.125. This image is reproduced from Collectable Elgin, JC Higgins, Hawthorne Bicycles, by Hurd and Gordon, which, in turn, reproduces the 1935 Spring / Summer Montgomery Ward catalog.
This bicycle will be a rider, so using old tires simply isn't an option. I've seen the "brick" pattern tires, but everything else that I have been able to locate in this size has a more modern looking tread pattern. Are there any other options available? I'd definitely consider tires made in the past, say, 20 years, but that are now out of production.
Thank you in advance,
Christopher
