Finally riding a big boys bike
Can anyone tell me something about this bike...year, for instance. For sale, kind of locally. Looks like the rear fender's been bobbed. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

This looks like a late 1950s or early 1960s Trent Tourist. The Trent Tourist ladies' model was the Model #29L in the catalog. The Trent was the bike you would get if you wanted to go a little sportier than the regular "Raleigh Sports" model. The fenders are correct but the rear is broken. They're celluloid and quite brittle. They had a couple different colors, but red celluloid fenders came on the black models. The saddle there is also correct - the Trent Tourist 29 and 29L came with a peculiar tan mattress saddle. It would have come with a tan saddle bag to match as well. The bars are the "All 'Rounder" which is a little different from North Road. Raleigh patent rims (Westrick) are correct. It should have the period "hooded" Raleigh brake levers as well, which it might have (hard to tell).

So it looks like it's mostly there. The fenders are almost always broken on these. I'd be inclined to use either a pair of black Raleigh fenders, or even aluminum Blumels.
