Bad fault with CWC apparently. I had a Cw53 stamped Roadmaster girls with that issue; i cut it apart to do a gender change ....eventually

Jus' looked at the serial & Surrre Enough the Cw stamp! No year so pre '50 for sure

That seems to have been an ongoing problem with CWC/AMF, especially the girl's frames. Here's a 1958 version with a field repair:

I guess it's the way the weight distributes on the girls frames & if heavier guys tend to ride them or they go off curbs etc it can't be Good for'em as shown.
