In the catalogs that chainguard only shows up in '60 and '61. In the '62 catalog all the older chainguards had disappeared, and the style that was on your Skylark was used on every bike, with various paint and graphics.
That sucks why would they go to a more basic one just to save cost
 
Here's another twist. In this thread @NBHAA (Leon Dixon) says that the "N" serials weren't used for the "house brand" AMF bicycles. So I take that to mean the bike posted by @Caddis would have originally been sold under another badge.

Still trying to track down the year since the parts don't exactly match the Skylark for any years.

Thanks for posting! That's the first Westpoint I've seen shown with the serial.
