His and Hers Raleigh Sport 3 speeds metallic gold

'Lil Knee Scuffer
This super swanky His and Hers Raleigh 3 speed came into the co-op. Some great fender and fork detail. Frame pumps in tact. 70s? Yet, unlikely to suit our mission of providing reliable low cost transportation, so I'm looking for outlets. An older listing would suggest this pair has some real value. These two not in the same condition. But if you have an opinion on value, I'd love to hear it. Offloading these at a fair price while getting the co-op some revenue would be a win win.

Referenced 3 speed his/hers sold(?) a few years ago. https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/gold-1970-raleigh-sport-3-speed-800-plus-shipping.155578/

Our bikes. Sorry for the poor photo. Couldn't get to it, but will if its worthwhile.

Most are 1968-72, with a few made into 1973 of left over parts. The rear hubs will have a date code on your bikes. Although painted in gold, they are not a deluxe Sports type model when some of the more budget equipment on them is considered. There is a collectors' premium for the gold bikes over a similarly sized and conditioned standard Sports model because of the color and scarcity compared to a regular Sports.

Thanks for the informative reply. The gold is a striking color esp in the metallic and these still have decades of grunge. Maybe these would be a fun DOND. It’s kind of all gravy.

Are these 26” x 1-3/8” iso 590?

All four wheels appear to have Endrick rims (most Raleigh Sports have Westrick rims, don't they?) so I'd expect them to be the normal size; iso 590. Were these whitewalls and white saddle, bright paint job, and jet-style chainguard models brought out for the American market?

That is correct. The Endrick was common on the all-gold Sports because it was a lower budget variation of the Sports. The Westrick was available on the standard Sports and the deluxe Superbe.
