I just purchased these 2 bikes yesterday from a fellow CABE member and could not be happier. The Corvette 5 speed is a 1961 and the Jaguar is a 1959. The seller is a super nice guy and he did a great job caring for these bikes for many years. Tim
Great story. They are out there in that shape, when they find another home that appreciates them , it’s a win win. Someday hopefully years down the road another caretaker will post he got them from you. Congratulations on those beauties.
That "phone cord trim" is what is known as cablewrap. It was widely available as an aftermarket product to dress up your bike with in color coordinated colors. This stuff on the cables is actually original NOS stuff I got from MLC years ago.
Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I know that I am going to enjoy these two bikes. Does anyone know what years they used that type of cable wrap? The Jag is the first bike for me that has this and I like the look of it, is it still available? Tim
