My Converse high tops didn't last long in the summer because the right one was used alot to stop my bike by putting it on the front tire behind the fork crown. My dad had a junkyard and we (my 2 brothers and I) would build our bikes out of what ever parts we could find and most of the time they didn't have brakes, so we ended up with alot of good left footed hightops. Things sure were simple and fun 60 years ago.
