This 1898 Miami Narrow Tread Special came my way. Serial number: 17341. In person, it is a truly special bicycle. I am in need of a fork, badge, and some other parts; please let me know if you have anything. It came with this amazing rear wheel with twisted triangular profile spokes. Anyone have one of these? The brake hub is a Canfield.
A friend from Australia needed a Flying Merkel badge for a motobike project close to finish. I helped facilitate getting a small group of these badges made. A few extras were crafted and are available to assist in recouping the production costs (one is already headed to California). A couple were done in sterling silver, one as a Western bolo tie, and a hankerchief slide.
Hello;
Found yesterday with my brother, at a spare parts fair for old cars and motorcycles, two saddles, a WW1 TROXEL military model and a G519 PERSON model with redone leather.
Like what, he still drags things in France.
Regards;
Serge
1974 Holdsworth, branded as an Irish Harding. Reynolds 531 tubing. 60X57cm ctc, an excellent fit for me.
I didn't actually 'find' it this week, as I have been cordially, patiently, respectfully stalking its' owner for a few years now. The gentleman finally decided he had too many project frames and sold it to me.
The longest SCORE, I have ever pursued. To be built with Campa NR. View attachment 1798238
My Feb. 1971 Schwinn Apple Krate arrived from Bobby U this week to join it's Brothers in my Man Cave. I'm amazed at the incredible original condition, tires, cables, grips etc.. It's in good company. My all original '68 keeps my other bikes and toys company in the garage. It's got a pretty good life too. Being an early model it just didn't match it's younger front fendered siblings. Everyone needs a big Brother. The speedo cable I ordered/bought off Ebay is being "held" in Canada Customs? Nothing better for them to do I guess?
Ya know, @juvela, I do not know the full history on this frame. From a BForums member in NYC, who is not original owner, but may know more. Not sure if it was first purchased from George in Ireland or Charlie in LA. Would there be any way to tell the diff from frame & fork? I doubt it. Makes me wonder if the Harding frames sold in USA shipped directly from Holdsworth, UK or via Cork/Dublin IE.
