I used to own the “Harley” cool bike it’s changed hands a bunch in the last 5 years. Enjoy!

Ran out of time to edit the actually good photos of it today, but yesterday I picked up this funky "gravity trike" for free off of Facebook Marketplace. I originally got it for a few parts, but I quickly got ideas of how I could rebuild it into a cool, fun, and much more stylish pedal-powered trike. I'm thinking this would be the perfect starting point for me to learn how to weld, (and use up some of the junk frames I've accumulated over the past 5 years.)

Since becoming addicted to pump track riding on my 29" bmx bike that everyone's tired of hearing about, I have been curious to build/get a 26" bike. I've been down the rabbit hole picking out a 26" bmx bike (or 3) for the past couple of months & have recently dove head first down the Dirt Jumper rabbit hole. All the while I've been looking for a good, cheap candidate to build a 26" ripper (not SE) to play around with. Today, to pull my head out of the rabbit hole I decided to see if my friend @palepainter could help me with my horrible addiction by accompanying me to the bike co-op in Ft. Collins to dig around for gems. Found some good pieces to try to build up a 26" fun bike. My other friend @Arthur Roy Brown has a reputation for this type of thing & will be inspired by his skills with this build.🤓 An old GT Talera with Tange Cro-Moly MTB tubes & horizontal dropouts. 2 piece crank & FSA bottom bracket, 1" bmx stem & other quilled stem to fit 31.8mm bar (😳) & 80mm RST Capa fork w/disc & v brake mounts.

I didn't notice the rear brake until I was hanging on the rack to take home. May have grabbed another candidate instead. I think with modern good quality pads, coated cable/housing & lubes, I can get it to work up to par.

I couldn't resist & did a quick mock up with riser bar that fit a bmx stem...

The bike has little wear & should clean up really well. It should be a fun bike to build & ride while saving me a ton of money (until I just drop the money on a new bmx & DJ bike. this should help buy some time). And I love having fun on the cheap! It should look pretty cool when finished too....STOKED!!

Almost forgot! Spent under $150 for this pile versus $1000 for the bmx & $1200 for the DJ I have picked out.👍👍
