What bike did you work on today?

Another bev lock bites the dust…..I’ve had this on my Hextube since the 90’s. Long before I knew what prewar and postwar was bike wise. It just looked cool cause it had the same red inset paint as on the hex. I recently bought what was told an appropriate late 40’s Monark stem to replace. Well, I was trying to slip it past the cross bar flat area and SNAP. I know these are kinda inherently weak, so I was going easy on it. Nope…..Glad I wasn’t standing up and pumping when this pos decided to fail!!!!

We all have stepped in that "It's Done" trap when it comes to building a bike!
I did at the beginning of the week with this 39 Monark motorbike. Well, I forgot I had these cream/white Fat Franks, 26" x 2.235. Dare I say "Done" now!!!
