Dottie Farnsworth was a top professional racer from Minneapolis. She died tragically in 1902 at age 35 from blood poisoning contracted as a result of a fall at a non-racing circus cycling event. While riding in the cycle dazzle her wheel ran off the top, and death resulted from injuries received in the fall. I have no idea what a cycle dazzle is, but it sounds exciting.
