Local bikes rule

I live for the CABE
this has prob been discussed before, but here goes. I've got a soft spot for local found bikes, it's cool, to me to find something that's never left your hometown or state. in 35 or so years I've bought 8 or 9 really great bikes, great to me anyway and way more than i want to think about because it was in my backyard so to speak. it's alot harder to find something good with the internet. once it's posted that local estate sale or hometown auction...chances are it's going to Cali if you don't step up. show us your hometown bikes you've found local, or within a few hours drive. it doesn't have to be great or a grail bike, just something you were happy to get without being shipped or driving across country. here's a local one to me I bought quite a few years ago

My best local acquisition, was this 1939 first generation Schwinn, Sports Tourist, Paramount.

It had originally been purchased at Hans Ohrt Lightweight Bicycles, on Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills, California.
I bought it from a family friend of the original owner, who had been a Dentist in Santa Monica.
So this bike has spent its entire existence rolling up and down the Southern California coast.
As you can see, I plan to keep up the tradition.
😎

This one was cool, because I got it from a guy who lived about a block away from @mrg

It’s a 1949 Schwinn B6 model, that was originally purchased at Cervesi Bros. in San Francisco, California.
The guy I bought it from, got it at the Turlock Swap Meet in 1980.
He then served an entire career in the Marine Corps, so the bike didn’t get ridden much, during the time that he had it.
It was cool, when I went to pick it up, knowing that it had been sitting in a shed that whole time, about a block away from @mrg
aka, Downey Mark.
🤪
