I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
Yep!
The story behind those repop levers is kind of comedic.
I had an original lever that looked like it had been fished out of the ocean.
It was so crusty and pitted, that I had pretty much given up on it.
So when Bob asked me if I wanted to add anything to his load that was going to chrome?
I mentioned that hopeless lever, and he said he’d give it a try, and see if he could get it somewhat presentable.
So in the process of prepping for chrome, he had to grind about half the thickness off the lever.
Unbeknownst to either of us, while the guys at the chrome shop had it, they sent it off to get reproduced.
What they didn’t know, was that they used the worst possible example to copy, and totally got the proportions wrong.
I guess it was divine intervention or something, because the repops are easy to spot at a glance, if you can get a good look at the lever itself.
