Bicycle Museum of America

Finally riding a big boys bike
Patron sent this in and thinks it could be the last Schwinn bike manufactured. Posting the pics of serial number below. Any help with the year identification appreciated.

1983 model. And I am not sure why they think it is the last bike made by Schwinn? How could they even begin to back up that claim?

Schwinn didn’t build any bikes in 1983, but they did supply Murray with Schwinn made parts and a few unbuilt frame sets. As per the news letter announcing the relationship with Murray.

The frame serial number comes back as April of 83, so the factory was still producing frames in 83, and that is definitely a Chicago built frame!
