Here's the story of a cross country ride on an Elgin Robin. From the October 1938 American Bicyclist and Motorcyclist. Also a Morrow ad from Oct. 1938.

OK, so this got my interest and I had to search for some more information about this guy. Evidently he toured around the country with a schwinn lightweight and a trailer later. You can get some more information about him in this post from another forum (with pictures of the trailer

Here's a newspaper article from the Sweetwater Reporter in Texas from 2-28-1939. I'm sure there are more out there. I've seen some in newspaper archives but you have to pay to view.

That Robin looks tiny next to him! Can't imagine that being comfy, the Schwinn must have been a welcome upgrade!
