Whats this Royal Flyer bike with a gearbox??
This is supposedly an old Royal Flyer bicycle with what looks like a gearbox on the crank. it appears there is a cable to and from the handlebar for changing gears? I have never seen anything like this and would like opinions on it. I would assume "rare"? Whatya say?- genesmachines

Heres another, I am not good at Ids, no head badge. Serial #E62064, G3. There is also a stamp on rear drop left side setting on bike of 35 with a "dead" F. Its a "special deluxe" with metal skirt guards.- genesmachines

thanks for the info. the tires will have to be a New Years resolution. Won't be much heat in central NY for about 8 months. I have been using John Deere Ultra Guard rubber treatment on tires so will prep them with that, can't hurt. Thanks again, Gene- genesmachines

yes its a murray, just checked, I noticed the rims are Wald S-6 and have "287 76" stamped on them. Would that be the date of mfg making them 1976? My bending of the railleur was too persuasive and messed it up so will try a different one on it. Will try to do a better job on the brake!!- genesmachines

1940 ?s Western Flyer Step through with Pharis tires, black out hubs

I researched the patent on kick stand, it was approved in 1934, too bad they didn't take off, it locks in place so the bike won't roll. Whatizit? who can ID this bicycle?
I am interested in this bike but would like some info on it, what brand is it? please. The frame looks older than having the 26 X 1.75 tires on it. The rear brake arm is blank. I am hoping some one will recognize the chain guard or front sprocket.- genesmachines

1940 ?s Western Flyer Step through with Pharis tires, black out hubs
I assume this to be a 40s bicycle with the skiptooth chain and blackout New Departure hubs. Serial number is F81338 which is very legible. It is in fair to good condition for its age. Greetings from upstate NY. I found a couple this week. A Phillips with tires that never go flat- hard rubber. I had to put some elbow grease to it to uncover a decent original bike, 3 speed with a crank that was worth the $6 paid. I am interested in the age and value of the bike. How desirable are these older bikes. I researched the patent on kick stand, it was approved in 1934, too bad they didn't take off, it locks in place so the bike won't roll.
