UPDATE! I am asking $450 plus shipping. Mid 1940's Swedish crescent bicycle.
Hello fellow wheel guys! Its been ten years since i first found this bicycle. I need to make space for my work tools which means that my fun stuff needs to go away. I want to sell this bicycle. Please pm me if...
Regarding the pierce kramer frame, mine has a peculiar rear dropout, and the bb has no dust cover over the bearings, from the 1916 catalog, thus is for easy oiling track side. Does any of the other racers here show these features as well? Dont see these details in a lot of these images.
I am just now seeing this thread. I am sorry i have been away so long! Thankfully someone has seen to it that my serial number has been cataloged! This is all good stuff. It has been years since ive looked at the bike and honestly had given up on research because no one knew anything about it...
There were lots of us bike manufacturers around the t.o.c. is there evidence of head badge rivets? Columbia bikes had model badges as well as he as badges on the stem or elsewhere. Take a good look on all tubes for badge placements, if no visible stamped serial numbers are evident. The forks...
I have a Frank Kramer special Pierce. I do know that the racer frames have a different drop out at the back and the BBC cups didn't have dust caps. You can see the bearings. It was stated in the catalogs that the frame was made so chain adjustment didn't change geometry and the open bottoman...
Kudos Volksboy! for researching the website! there is tons of research and information within the threads of these pages. good luck on whatever you decide to do with the cycle!
thanks for posting pics! congrats on your new find!
I think that you are correct in your assumption regarding racer vs. roadster. you do have some great parts! the brake arm/rear wheel is defiantly original. the seat clamp is cool as well! does it have a patent date? I think I see 1926 on it...
that
brake arm and probably the whole back wheel was made during WW 2. it is called a black out hub. chrome was saved for the war effort. the rear wheel looks 26" and the front looks 28"
around 1900 to 1915ish just after the boom. are the fenders screwed through the sides at the rear? there are screws in the frame there for some reason. also at the rear fork at the bottlm?
maybe the fenders are not supposed to be on this bike.
sort of a longshot here, but
a lot of higher end bikes around 1900-1920 used english and french fittings. B.S.A.. Brampton was another company. the forks might be Brampton they did make spring forks for motorcycles early on. they also made chains and pedals. check for a name on the pedals. if...

i use
i use my bicycle stand to hold the crank arm on the outside of the sproket, it only needs to support the weight of the crank assembly. you dont need excessive force.then use a drift ( sort of like a nail punch but not a chisel, with a flat face, not pointed.) you can get them in several...

there is patent date on the bottom bracket. can you search the patent data base for the drawings?
have some patience, you'll figure it out, don't do any heavy hitting yet. those pieces are the only ones you have and i'm thinking hens teeth to find.
see that hole on the side with the arm still attached?
could that be a retaining ring? it might unscrew. if, you see a clear line between the outer shell and the "ring" then maybe you can use a drift and tap that ring. try gently in either direction. the best thing i can advise is to go to the...
