I wouldn't really compare it to Yenko Chevrolet, but Gary Wimmer did all sorts of custom Schwinns in his shop
before it close down about 15 years ago. The braze ons are beautifully crafted. This one has braze on downtube
shifter, bottom bracket guide and rear stop. CGXXXXXX
This was on a pre-war Shelby I purchased. I painted it black to put it back on the frame I painted black,
but it didn't fit with the 3 piece BB conversion I did on bike. I was told it is a pre-war Colson, but I have
no idea whether it is either? It has a small cut in it (pointed out in last 2...
Vista 20 x 2.125 rear slick (S2) and Carlisle 20 x 1 3/4” front (S7)
Both have minor cracking, but hold air uniformly and look great when mounted.

My friend sold me what he thought was a ’64, only to find out it was a ’68 Jr with numbers re-stamped. He offered to refund me, but I said I’d try to sell the correct parts for what I paid and rebuild the Jr. The only part that is not 100% is rear rim is side stamped and should be center...
20" c to c from seat bolt hole t bottom axle hole. It's the real deal, just re-chromed. I would sell it separately, but at the same price, $400 It's the hardest piece on the bike to find and the most valuable... I'll probably let pedals go with frameset?
Maybe you can find someone who needs...
Thank you,
but I know all the flaws. It's the reason I'm parting it. I also forgot to mention, the seat post clamp is incorrect. I may have correct one. This is an obvious repaint. but it's solid.
I looked up '38 Shelby and did not see a model with this chain guard? Guessing this is a lower model? Sprocket looks like '41 and newer. I also noticed Western Flyers and Hiawathas in search. I'm assuming Shelby made those?
It's apart and ready for paint.... thinking Flamboyant lime....
I purchased this today to make a Klunker out of it. Seller said it's a '41 Colson.
I looked up Colsons from that period and can't really confirm?
He said frame/fenders/crank/chainguard are Colson and rack Monarch stem/bars Schwinn, seat/wheels newer/
I know the stem is a Schwinn Razor and bars...

Deal Bob,
I don't think anyone else will appreciate how nice these are to a Schwinn collector. I pulled these off over the years
and replaced them with standard ones on the ones I re-cabled and sold. Of course, I saved a few...
