Looks right to me.I have a 42 Huffman military bike and they are not in line,I read that during the war they were hand stamped.There are some examples on the miltary bike site.Heres mine.
Has cool Spitfire badge with radial engine.Thought Spitfire name was Schwinn only but frame and sprocket look Huffman.Has New Departure black out hubs.What do you think it is? thanks!
I had pretty good luck removing a couple layers of spray paint from my 42 Huffman using carb or brake cleaner.It seemed to soften the cheap paint and not touch the od paint.Good luck and nice find!
The guy mine was purchased from said it was a 1938 but from research it seems to be 1940-45.I would guess 40-41 because not many bikes built during the war.
To Johan's question the grips I got from bicyclebones on ebay says they are NOS 50s or 60s.Heres a couple pics of hubs you asked about.Thanks Craig.Would like OD grips but $350 ouch!

I really like the exposed rocker arm engines.Great look.I've been considering a briggs fh in the worksman bike I got.I heard they are rated at 3/4 hp.Probably alot of torque though.How is the perfomance?

I've found original 28 rims and tires to be rare and very expensive.I heard 29s might fit in the 28 fenders.Has anyone done this? Would love to see a pic.Does anyone sell a 29 coaster brake wheel set? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
