Or you could do what lots of people do.... ask an over inflated price and (shockingly) not get any takers and than use that in your defense of... "tried to sell it whole but oh well"... and then part it out. Ultimately it's yours to do what you want, but man it would be a shame to destroy it...
The bendix hub is the most valuable thing about the bike and it still has all the required clamps to hold the cable housing to the bike. Not a very interesting bike overall ($50) but you could get more for the hub by itself.
I don't know much about value.... but I don't know if I see a bike between 3k-4k there. I don't even know if I see a bike that would fetch over 2k in today's market. I am often wrong, but the best you can do is put a price on it and see what offers come in. If you're not struggling for money...
Haven't swung a detector in a little while now, have a fisher F75. Fun hobby though and I loved that show! Anyone into youtube channels and likes metal detecting, I'd suggest The Hoover Boys, Green Mountain Metal Detecting, and The Stealth Diggers. They all love the history, aren't obsessed with...
Never understand why one would part out a complete bike just so another parts bike gets completed. This bike has been together for a long time and probably has some fun stories to tell.

Here's my old bike, had the original war time paperwork still with it after all these years.

You're making me feel bad I sold it in the first place lol. This bike isn't a '43, so just inventory probably built closer to 1940 that was sold during the war. I tracked this bike down to the store front that it left which has now been demolished. There's a post on the cabe about it somewhere...
Forgot to mention... there are two (if I remember correctly) holes that were at some point purposely put there in the tank that are covered by plastic rivet things. They are small and not really noticeable unless you're looking. I can get more pictures for anyone who has serious interest. Nicely...
Found a Post Malone autograph card in a pack of topps baseball cards. 3 dollar pack of cards and just sold this on fleabay for $250. Easy money!

Thanks for all the kind words. Love this machine. My question.. I've been looking all over the place and haven't seen another long tank with these colors. I've seen the non long tank version in orange, just not one like this. Anyone else have one or can find a picture?

But if you don't clean it up, people will nit-pick you down on price because it "needs a lot of work".... I'm on no side of the fence because I've done both, but to each his own I guess.

No premium with those guys unless you bid online. I didnt post it on purpose...thought my dreams of owning one might have a small chance since it seemed to be going unnoticed

Kind of under the radar I guess. Sold for 6300 which is a pretty good price for a restored bird. I was surprised it wasnt posted on here before the auction

I'm probably heading there tonight after work. Never went on a Friday night before, do vendors stay out late? Also not surprising about the road situation... PA loves to make it a nightmare by doing everything at once.
Always wanted one of these bikes and you're not that far away from me!! Unfortunately I haven't been able to plant that money tree in my backyard yet. GLWTS
Oh geez....The auction house is in Lehighton but the actual auction was way out by Pittsburgh? Glad I stopped bidding.

It was right in my neck of the woods in Lehighton Pa. Several whizzer bikes, boys and girls silverkings, girls hoppy, and the bluebird all in fantastic condition. Hauser actioneers...and they have no buyers premium if you win on site.

Went for auction yesterday at a very friendly price for a restored bluebird. Anyone on here get it? I waited a day to see...lol
