Please take a moment to read the new post TRADING SAFETY. It contains important information for those who use the classified ads for buying and selling.
Probably need a slightly longer spoke. Cross pattern does matter. Typically it's 3 in the front and 4 for the rear will use the same length. If the cross counts were wrong it would be further off then a couple mm though.
Fender, chainguard and stem clamp are all correct. The badge says chicago so it was built before 98. The later model sterlings say kenosha. Is the badge aluminum? As for the "built like a watch" I've seen that saying in advertisements from 1896. If your badge is aluminum then it's probably a 96...
It would be helpful to know the serial number. I'm pretty sure it's not a racer. Here's two images that show the truss like yours that are definately not racers.
Corbin didn't come out with their 2 speed until 05. The catalog image is posted of the bike telling what came on the bike stock. The biggest problem with this bike is that the model 108 is the specific full cushion model and it's missing the fork made of unobtainium. If this came from the...
Definately 03. Do you have a better picture of the fork? It looks like the rims have been changed to clad and looks like the stem has also been changed. Do you want to sell it?

Pretty sure that's not a d&j. Could a d&j be made to work, probably depending on how much hardware you have or have the ability to make if custom stuff is needed.
Probably the best repair would be to retube that part of the frame. You could try welding it up but you might end up just chasing blow out around. Another way to go about it could be to take a half but tube and braze/ weld it to the frame ( clad it). The easiest solution might just be to find...
Pretty sure I cracked the code on your hub. I believe it's a new departure brake controller (which was used by Columbia quite a bit) that is missing the cover, the band and possibly other pieces. I pulled the cover off of mine and it looks to be the same but id have to do a bit of work to get...
