Your bike has the over the fork front fender, and it may have had a different chain guard and skirt guards on the rear (high rear fender indentation would allow for this on yours) your chain guard may be from a boys.
If you're not set on glass, go to Home Depot buy a small piece of plexiglass and cut your own....I've made some and if you take care when cleaning they're fine
I had a squeak on a springer that was about to drive me nuts, turned out to be on the ends of the spring (where each end contacts the mount) was causing the problem.

I've had a couple extended and made sure there was a 1/2 water pipe inside for re-enforcement (made sure it ended up below the lowest stem point) cut and beveled both pieces of tube and welded. In both of the tubes I changed the water pipe fit snugly inside (1/2" galvanized)

I had one a while back and the 'rivets' were removable (had to grab the heads with a small visegrip and screw out) I don't know if they were all made this way.
that's why you need to do something slow them down, I've seen 'boots' on tires, as well as both wheels with large 'logging' chains connecting them together..make it hard for them (they'll go for the easiest mark)
