If this is a 2 week spool up to April Fool’s Day, well done, sir.
If the tank is legit, well done, sir. Congrats Bob.
If you are Leon Dixon, Phil Marshall, or one of the other greats, I now understand why you don’t post on the CABE.
I recently purchased these fenders from a ‘36 Roadmaster, but they are different than my other crescent CWC fenders. The tips are blunt like Snyder fenders, but the rivet spacing is wide like CWC (approx 1.8” vs Snyder 1.5”) and the front fender braces are clocked at 90 degrees like a CWC. The...
I agree and have seen them with a Flying V on the early ones and crowned and bladed forks on others. Since this bike started as a bare frame, I am looking for a swan fork. Don’t have a picture with me at the moment. Thanks.
Great experience with Chestnut Hollow. I have bought parts that I couldn't find anywhere else and they were priced accordingly. Jerry has always been friendly and helpful, even when I wasn't buying.
FordMike65 and CWCMan, DBR with rack in '37 Roadmaster catalog below. I have a '36 catalog pic with more deluxe parts somewhere around here.
I am looking for another early rack for a separate project. Thanks.
Exactly. Half of the discs are keyed to axle and the other half are keyed to the inner shell of the hub. Very simple with less hard to find wearable parts than a Morrow. I have had really good luck with them by scuffing the discs with a scotch-brite and putting a light oil on them and making...
If you use 30w or light oil on the discs rather than grease they work much better. Quite a bit of surface area to provide friction when you add up the disc surfaces that are in contact with each other.
I found literature with early DBR including chrome fenders, chrome paisley chain guard, silver ray, gangway horn, battery tube, braced drop stand, and streamline luggage carrier. Deluxe Model 0626. Early style chain ring and upper bar spacing. I am not sure if is '36 or '37.
I am assembling pieces for a '36 Double Bar Roadster and would like to find the right rack. I believe that the 6 hole rack is correct. I could use a later style lit rack for another project too? Any condition ok. Thanks
John
Here is a great Roadmaster Catalog reference for '39. www.nostalgic.net/bicycle175
Are these forks the same as those labeled 'Drop Crown' or are the '41 forks different? My bent tanks have the swan and crown style forks.
Thanks for the info. When I got the bike, it had seen some serious use as a delivery machine. No telling whether the hub/wheel had been swapped out as a replacement. I think that there is a pretty good CWC serial number thread out there which may shed some light. I have heard that the...
I have a Roadmaster Delivery bike with blackout front Morrow, chain ring, and headset. Rear morrow is not plated or painted and I believe it has a 1943 stamp.
I have a set of War Tubes that still hold air for another bike.
Rider quality reflector housing from the 50s 'Firestone Cruiser' that I rode to Jr. High School 30+ years ago. Reflector is cracked and was salvaged from Gertrude's misfit parts pile.
