Found my Great Grandfather's "high school" diploma on facebook marketplace. His high school was done at what was known as a "military academy" although not actually affiliated with the military. The entire complex is still there to this day, mostly turned into apartments now. He graduated in 1913.
Most likely a 35 with the window lugs. Not sure on those fenders bring original or handlebars either and looks like seat was changed at some point. More expertise resides on this board, so wait to hear from others about the fenders, etc...
No didn't buy it. The only difference I see is that rod that connects the top of the bracket to the rear axle area. That part is actually what made me think military..if I remember correctly the compax paratrooper folding bike that had the extra bar in the rear triangle was military? Either...
I only get upset anymore if it's a bike that fits my collection and I really want but can't normally afford at collector market prices. If it's just something I'm looking for resale.... (which I'm not doing too much anymore) I just move on.
Sprocket is wrong... looks like a Murray built sprocket. I'm guessing that dish shaped thinger was someones replacement washer that they had on hand. It's a schwinn so check out the serial number and you can get the year off that pretty easily.
It's being sold in a lot, I think there's a bit of a language barrier between us and he's 3 hours away. Not sure if I can get him to get a better picture of the serial number, I was surprised to get that picture, lol.
I'm still looking for an authentic "in the rough" military bike that hasn't been discovered out there. This one caught my eye in a group of bikes for sale. I think (in my untrained eye and little brain) that it was someone's attempt at a tribute bike. Am I right?
I've had it happen to me and I've had guys keep their word even if others offered more after me. Seems to balance itself out. I just remember... It's only a bike, many more to go around. I bet he still has it and someone who offered more is picking it up right now
Think it's pretty clear who is in the wrong here. In fact... none of Mr. Haney's arguments really make sense. Professing you're in the right because "no one in there right mind would sell and ship it for $300" when that is exactly what the facts show. Case closed. THIEF
First off... My upmost respect for your service to the country. Second, this blows. If I had a 24" sitting around I'd be shipping it to you for cost of shipping. Hope it works out for you!
Yep, that's where I want to be. My old high school weight lol. I realized I had a lot of calories in drinks, so 99% water since January. No milk, soda, sugary drinks. Just coffee and water. Also using kettle bells although I've been a bit lazy lately and have to kick myself in the ass again.
Sometimes it's more about what you get rid of more than what you gain. Started a weight loss journey in January. That number was just about 240 when I started, blood pressure wasn't great and crazy snoring during sleep. BP under control and (according to my wife) my snoring has lessened...
My 3 Elgin long tankers in the middle there. Blue one has the fender over fork, orange has the front cushion hub (name of it is escaping me) and red one is the run of the mill just in nice shape
Found some local history. Nazareth Hall Military Academy where my great grandfather went to school. Found his graduation picture and many many really interesting stories and happenings of the school/town from 100 years ago.
