I'm still looking for an authentic "in the rough" military bike that hasn't been discovered out there. This one caught my eye in a group of bikes for sale. I think (in my untrained eye and little brain) that it was someone's attempt at a tribute bike. Am I right?

I can certainly get better pictures. Want to get a nice bike for my kid so letting something go. Missing front light. Tires are ugly gumwalls but hold air and can ride with them. Paint will clean up better, chrome on bars and crankset is probably shot but maybe can be brought back a bit...

I'm looking for a 26" wheel bike for my kid, but he's 10 so I'm thinking a 13" frame...which is proving hard to find. Not junk, good condition. Specialized, Giant, Trek, Marin, etc.. Anything out there?

It has the "enclosed" chain guard. Chain guard simply says "huffy".

Not sure why I'm buying this.... I'm a prewar ballooner guy, but a few minutes from my house and pocket change, I had to go for it. If it was any other color, forget it, but the violet is cool.
