I bought this on a hurry during a family gathering and didn't look close enough, at all. It was listed as a Pre War stand but it's nothing like a Cycletruck stand. Hmm. Bummed because I paid decent amount.
Looks like what I purchased is a Colson rear mount kickstand. Hopefully I can find it a home.
Here's a photo of the bicycle that the last tank was for. It has a prototype Shimano pedal assist unit. The box was made to house the battery. It's a bit new for the forum, but it was inspired by early bicycles and motorcycles. The tank was a good way to hide the ugly battery.
I'm still just learning. But I have been into antique bikes for a while. I sold off everything I had.
I suppose most of you probably don't know, but the forum sends emails out if a member has not been on for a long time. I'm guessing that made no sense to the regulars! ;)
Thanks Jay!
He is the one that showed me the tank and I had to at least try and make one. Doing it by hand since the shape is so complex. It'll be a slow going project, but hopefully it'll get there.
Here is an excellent way to measure and calculate spokes. My friend set this page up.

If you don't know what something means Google can help, or I can check back.
The most important things I can add are to lube the nipples and spoke threads...
:p
Well, I suppose I have a couple things brewing.
First off, I need to find a/the local with the Elgin Robin tank. I'm in Minneapolis. I'm hoping to reproduce a few of them out of steel and maybe aluminum.
Second, I'd like to offer local folks help with sheet metal repairs, and wheel...
I'll snap some better photos soon. It's my ladies B-day so I gotta take care of that.
I'm just hoping the forks can be set back without a big kink.
I should have N.D. gut for the rear hub, though.
The sprocket is the real oddball. One of the crank arm also has a real cool piece. It...
:p
I suppose that's why nobody is giving information. Ya'll are looking for it!
The link it gone...it was in the CL free section, and in my car about 20 minutes later (no speeding tickets). :D
This is weird. Listed as an Elgin Oriole on CL. The headbadge just says "Oriole" across the front. Weird heart sprocket. Steel/wood rims.
The past owner butchered it. I should be able to bring it back.
Any info?
Most of the things I plan to do to the engine are for looks. The head is being made so the fins go inline with the engine, and the fins will be about an 1.5" taller. All the cooling fins on the flywheel will go bye bye.
I have already swapped the carb for a Tecumseh carb with high and low...
I honestly think the 26" Large Marge rim would be ideal (about the same diameter as a 21" motorcycle rim). But for my project, I wanted the proportions to be close. The build was based off the size of the engine, and even still, it's too small IMO. Most people building gas bike are using the...
Military Monarch, you're still here! I remember that name from a LONG time ago!
The tires are cheap CST Cyclops 24x3". I think retail on the is around $20 each. I'm looking for other tires though.
I picked up the Surly Large Marge rims of CL for $80. Retail on the is around $120 each...
I have a Briggs 6s. It appears to be the same as the one on the bike. I also have a 5s. It's a bit smaller.
The 6s I have has the tank and glass bowl filter/petcock on it too. Nice complete engine.
A modern approach to an old idea. I'm working on finishing the engine right now. Going back to steel 1 piece crack with old wood block pedals. More copper and brass. I started with a 1951 Briggs 5s 1hp. But it wouldn't pull. Found a 3hp Briggs and have been doing work to it to make it appear...
This is the closest picture I can find. Except in poor condition. Mine has the pinstriping still. Mine is missing the tank (if there was one). No rear rack. Has the kickstand on the back still. The bars also stretch out and straight back.

Oops, what I meant was Stutz didn't build it. Just their headbadge. The Westfield stuff looks close, but the forks are all different. The tabs coming off the fork crown are flat stock. Mine has round bar.
I picked up a SUPER clean, mostly complete 1920's bicycle last night.
The downtube has a tag that says "Gold Anniversary".
Seat tube has Patents from 1915
Made in Westfield, MA
Has the Autobike sprocket
4 digit stamp serial on the BB.
Chainlink tires.
Headbadge says...
I have to let her go.
$500 shipped.
Rust is from having moisture in the tray that rusted some bolts. Should clean right out. Runs on air pressure to clamp bikes. Works but one line has a leak.
VERY rare!
email me or PM.
Thanks for the words of wisdom ol' wise one.
I think $85 is more than fair. Sorry. If you don't like the price, fine. Just hit the 'back' button go on your merry way.
Not real sure. Somewhere around $225 or so?!?!?
I have seen the headbadges bring in some pretty big money alone.
I dunno. You let me know. I put a price out there, you make me an offer.
I have started to go through the pile of chaingauards I have.
Make offer inlcuding shipping. No Paypal, sorry. But I will deduct $1.00 for the Walmart money order and the cost of a stamp.
OK, Sorry it took so long for pictures. Like I said, the parts are rough. The only flaws I found were the upper, rear fender mounting hole, and also the lower rear fender mounting hole. I also looks like there was a kickstand mounted at one time and it kind of pinched the frame a bit.
I...
I'm 26. I have been collecting since I was 15. I have bought, sold, scrapped and traded thousands of bikes in my short life time! I currently have a garage with about 300-400 bicycles in various stages of condition. I run a non profit bicycle recycling program.
A picture of me and my partner...
Please PM me with offers.
This is a VERY clean 20" 5 speed rear wheel for a Schwinn Stingray Krate. The freewheel and spoke guard are not original but like new. The wheel has no dents and little to no rust. A little polish and it will look new. The hub is aluminum and etched Schwinn...
Please send me a PM with offers.
NOS Michelin Cyclomoteur 20" tire

Wow, that truck is SWEET!
I could see that thing lowered with some shiny wheels! I'd just leave that thing as it is and run it rat rod style!
Make it a bike hauler!
Yeah, I don't really collect anything worth a lot of money, but I buy/receive what I can when I can.
I like classic cars too! Here are my two resto projects.
'58 Fiat 600 "The Italian Mini"- Completely rotted out. I will have to replace the whole floor and a lot of other sheetmetal. This...
