Hey Guys, Thanks to all that have tried to help. Not sure yet what items I`ll be selling. So...no ideas on the horseshoe shaped shims or the black arm with clamp?
This was also in the box....
Imagine a time when you`d just tie a shipping tag to a part and throw it in the mail!
A guy calls me and says "I`ve got a small box of old bike stuff you might be interested in" . Yeah, that`s a "go see" for sure :). When I get there he pulls out this...
Yep, that`s some old stuff alright! Some pretty interesting items, a couple of `em I have no idea on :confused...
Yep, there`s 20`s too. As OldRider says, very common in Canada. As kids, we would get on the bike while on the stand, then lean forward moving the weight over the front wheel. This would lift the back wheel and we`d pedal like crazy to get the wheel spinning... then push off the stand and burn...
I guess the other thing that we have to remember is that parts wore and were switched out...especially when some of these bike were used for generations. Eaton`s not only had a couple lines of bikes, but also a full line of components and accessories available through the catalog, including...
Hi Old Rider, I was hoping that bridge area would be identical to my 30`s Eaton Glider, because the components on that are the same as your Ranger. It was built by Raleigh. I thought maybe since they said it came from the Hudsons Bay, that both them and Eatons were having bikes built by...
Ahh, I see. That Ranger of yours, does it have seat stays that are identical to the rest of your CCM`s? Especially around the bridge area? Or are they not as straight...more rounded? I can`t tell from the photos...
I`m in London, Ontario, so the shipping would be a bit of an issue. A couple of the Motorbikes are buried in the garage until spring, but I`ll try to get a photo of the other one. Two are Humphreys, one is a Cleveland. I love the Motorbikes too...you`ve got good taste in bikes! If you do...
Couldn`t get close to 400.00 around here. I wish I could though...I`ve got 3 similar sitting in the garage! You keeping both Flytes? If not...please let me know!
Is that all you can read? Or is that all that is stamped on it? A photo would make identification much easier. Hercules hubs were the primary hub for CCM made bikes in the 20`s, and they made a armless coaster during that period...
Hi Guys, I`ve got a 30`s CCM with a 1926 Hercules coaster hub that`s giving me some problems. I`ve torn it completely down, cleaned and regreased, but it still works poorly.
The internals all look good, nothing missing or worn, but it still seems to take a long time to react and takes a lot of...
Saddle height really depends on what you`re going to do with the bike. If your going to really ride it, I mean more than a cruise around the block, then the saddle should be fairly high, if you can just touch with the tip of your toe, you`re probably not far off. Your hips shouldn`t rock when...
Hi, I`m in need of another Brooks B-72 saddle. Doesn`t need to be mint, but must be in good ridable condition. If you got one available, please let me know. Thanks! ~Kevin
Really some excellent information there Phil, Thanks. I didn`t know that Westfield made bikes for Mead.
After a little more looking at photos, I`m starting to think it is a Mead, but maybe a Ranger, rather than a Crusader...
Really appreciate the help, Cheers!
Hey Rider, yeah I`ve seen those before, That`s a CCM Ranger. Actually pretty different to the frame in question tho`... My top tubes aren`t parallel like those. I used to have a CCM Motobike that was really similar to yours...
Thanks for your opinions. The guy I bought it from thought it was a Mead "Crusader". But a friend thinks it`s a Elgin, or at least an Elgin frame/fork.
It doesn`t look like the Crusaders I`ve seen photos of, similar in some ways, but not the same bike.
I wondered if there was a...
Hi, I`m looking for a Brooks B-72 saddle. Can show wear but must be in good ridable condition. If you have one to sell, please let me know, Thanks! ~Kevin
Looking for a Front Drum brake. Would prefer Union, but will consider any vintage model. If you`ve got something to sell, please let me know, Thanks. ~MERK
Hi, I`m looking for a front drum that will fit a pre-war Schwinn. Union would be my first choice but I`ll consider anything that`ll actually work. Please let me know if you`ve got one available, Thanks! ~MERK
