Hey folks, looking for one of these hubs. Ideally a rough exterior with good functioning guts. I'm going to need to cut it up for the noble cause of turning it into a 2 speed transmission for my whizzer.
Much thanks,
-Nolan...
90% original 1956 Schwinn Tiger it has been upgraded with a later Bendix Kickback 2 Speed rear hub, has later speedo and seat. Available in Portland, Or for three more days, then moving back to Bellingham, WA so I can deliver it to anywhere in between on wednesday. Paint condition 8 out of 10...
Get these, it looks like they are currently out of stock, but they are totally worth it. The rest of the screw in style that are on ebay are crappy. The only thing I don't like is how blue they are...
A mostly original, very good condition bike, originally this bike had a 3 speed sturmey artcher hub, but has been swapped out for a slightly later Bendix 2 speed automatic hub, also a later Schwinn speedometer and new light has been added. I would like to get $375 for it, and could give a...
I'm looking at a set of Schwinn wheels with New Departure hubs, and just wondering what years and models did they come on? From What I understand, Schwinn didn't produce bicycles for the war effort.
Due to a tight budget from the owner this was one of the least costly restorations I've done, if you've got a sharp eye you can see where I was able to cut some corners. Big thanks to Jerry Germeau who did an excellent job on the fenders.
I ordered some jewel end grips from them last year and I called the number today and it just kept ringing, maybe I have the wrong number. Does anyone else have their number?
I just got a job at Gerber Knives in Tigard and moved down to SE Portland. Who's in the area? I'm interested in any local rides, especially whizzer rides. I only brought down my whizzer and 54 Tiger, I should have the rest of the fleet down before Iron Ranch!

I usually get them from department store mountain bikes, they usually are a little shorter so you do three cross instead of four. You can get them from your local dump or metal scrap for free.
This has been a project I've working on for my motorbike over the last few weeks. I'll have another thread with all the other updates, including some other cool how to's like. Brass full length hex valve caps.
First you get a the lights which come in some dog collar flashing lights or the...
I was fooled at first as well. There are some small, but significant differences, the indents for the forks should be deeper and more rounded, and the I'm pretty sure the mounting hole isn't slotted and is in a different position.
Fender is also for sale for $35 Shipped if your interested.
This is the auction that I bought it on...

Just bought one off ebay, said springer in the listing but I didn't look close enough. Perfect condition, Repainted schwinn green with pinstripes but no dart. I need the springer fender with two rounded indents on each side and no holes in the front.
Thanks!

Yeah, I tried pulling on off one of another prewar guard, but the bend isn't the same and couldn't get it to fit. If you have one that is missing the other side of the clamp I could find or make one, but complete would be best.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for front mount that goes on this chainguard,

I just got one of these but...
I've started to disassemble this bike and I have a few more questions, There is a decal on the down tube that I can make out, Could it be the "De Luxe" decal? Thats the only that memory lane has that I think would be appropriate. Also I might have to do a poll on whether or not to repaint the...
That is a very unique bike, I know nothing about it but the frame design is different than anything I've seen before. I could only guess its an early Manton and Smith. Maybe someone around here will know. It looks like you have most of the original parts which is nice, the detail work is very...
Yeah it appears that Hawthorne was the earlier user of this design. Schwinn didn't make a large skip-tooth version of this sprocket design, they used skiptooth versons on their girls bikes during the late 40's early 50's but they were a smaller diameter. The boys schwinns used the larger...
Yep, they had the same rack and the same seat. The extent of the restoration will be a full cleaning and replacement of heavily rusted parts. I tried to get him to jump for a tank but he can't spend the money on it right now, as much as I would like to play with one of those in the meantime. I'm...
So I was contacted by and old family friend who said he had a Klunker (he's originally from Marin County) for me to fix up. He didn't know much about it, but just sent it up with my brother. Turns out its a CyclePlane. Sorry to be a tease but I will have pictures up tomorrow. I am fixing it up...
