Due to a tight budget from the owner this was one of the least costly restorations I've done, if you've got a sharp eye you can see where I was able to cut some corners. Big thanks to Jerry Germeau who did an excellent job on the fenders.

I usually get them from department store mountain bikes, they usually are a little shorter so you do three cross instead of four. You can get them from your local dump or metal scrap for free.

I was fooled at first as well. There are some small, but significant differences, the indents for the forks should be deeper and more rounded, and the I'm pretty sure the mounting hole isn't slotted and is in a different position.

Just bought one off ebay, said springer in the listing but I didn't look close enough. Perfect condition, Repainted schwinn green with pinstripes but no dart. I need the springer fender with two rounded indents on each side and no holes in the front. Thanks! -Nolan

Great, I think the middle one should work. It has the double bend and the part that mounts inside the guard has a curve to it.

Yeah, I tried pulling on off one of another prewar guard, but the bend isn't the same and couldn't get it to fit. If you have one that is missing the other side of the clamp I could find or make one, but complete would be best.
