@juvela @non-fixie Thank you SO MUCH for the information! It’s encouraging to know that with all of the information available to us nowadays there are still some mysteries!
The SA hub appears to be an AW model with a date of 1965.
“Made in France” is the only marking I see on the pedals.
The...
I’m hoping someone can provide a little more info on this one as I’m not finding much. I picked up this Belgium Derycke 3-speed a while back. It was last licensed in 1966 in Brabant, a former province of Belgium. The headlight mount and rear rack being part of the frame drew me to the bike.
A...
Here's a new one for the list. I'm not usually a middleweight guy, but when I understood the uniqueness of the 5-speed version I had to have it. Doesn't hurt that blue is my favorite bicycle color. Should be a fun one to clean up. SN F129601

Good eyes! The seat is marked Troxel, but it is a double pan (or what's left of it). Serial is located on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell:

Two faint markings on this side of the frame looked like tank wear to me: the small dark curved line on the down tube above the cantilever tube, and the straight-ish mark on the side of the head tube. Absolutely no material left on the seat pan... [emoji52]

I know they made a middleweight cantilever Hornet, but I still think this was a Phantom. The paint is actually black--the lighting is giving it a bluish tint. [emoji1303]

Hello Schwinn experts,
I picked up this frameset a couple of weeks ago thinking it was a Phantom, but I've had two people tell me they think it's a Hornet. I'm no expert, but I thought the integrated fender light, chainring, and locking springer would were *generally* found on the B6/Phantoms...
Remains of a mouse in a customer's bottom bracket shell. The seatpost had on opening at the top (70s road bike). Must have been a lot easier to get in than get out.
@cyclingday Thanks for the reply! Yup, that's exactly what I was asking. For some reason when I do a search for photos of the frame without the tank, I have never found one that has that auxiliary tube. I was beginning to think it was a shade tree repair. I found a shop that can straighten the...
After some additional digging I'm starting to think the tubing between the top and middle tubes is correct. Can anyone confirm?

I need a little advice on my 1941 Firestone Cruiser (Colson Bullnose).
I finally started the tear-down and cleaning process and it seems every turn reveals a new "surprise", which isn't unexpected in this hobby. But I've reached a crossroads and I'm not sure how to proceed. I could tell the...
Looking for the strip headbadge for a 1941 Firestone Cruiser boys bike. Condition unimportant since the bike will remain in it's current original-ish condition. I've done a quick mockup for those who are unfamiliar with the badge, and I would also be interested in collaborating with some one to...
Looking for a solid dropstand clip for a 26" ballooner. The rustier the better, but must be solid/functional. Please Let me know if you've got something that might fit the bill!

So after several comments here (and multiple PMs), I went back to the sale to check out the girls bike again. The sale was over for the day and no one around. Figured it wasn't meant to be, learned my lesson, etc. Decided to go back this morning just for peace of mind, knowing full well it was...
Picked this up this morning and would like to know more about it. Appears all original and only missing the headlight. Has the New Departure 2-speed, dropstand with clip, rack with reflector, tank with horn (untested), and matching AllState Premium tires that are in excellent shape. The tubes...
Adding my newly acquired Western Flyer to the mix. Original and complete minus the dropstand and headlight lens. Dirty and crusty, but solid with no rot. Serial number forthcoming.
SOLD Monark Super Deluxe with FREE delivery to ML
SOLD. Original and complete: trademark Monark deep balloon fenders, chainguard, Lobdell deluxe saddle in burgundy, train headlight with lens (untested), rear tombstone reflector/housing, acorn lug nuts on New Departure hubs laced to Lobdell...
Men's "Lepper Super" brown leather, long spring saddle in great condition. Picked this up a couple of years ago and never used it. Nice saddle for a refurb or a rider. SOLD from Kansas City, MO. Payment via PayPal or money order.
Thanks for looking!
Thank you both for the information. I'll probably stick with the cloverleaf since that's how I got it, and it sounds like I have some options as far as pedals. The stickers on the fenders will definitely stay; they are these amazing vintage baseball stickers that have probably been on there...
I picked this BF Goodrich Hornet up recently and was hoping some of the Schwenlightened Ones could lend their expertise. The first three characters of the serial are "T63" which I believe makes this a mid-October of '55 build. I've researched accordingly, but I'm having difficulty determining...
Perhaps? I've been so frustrated by the lack of frame I haven't thought about much else. I was planning on swapping the MW crank/ring I have currently, but I'd like to hear more if you've got a Phantom setup you might part with.
I've tracked down some more parts so I'm really just looking for a frame and fork...Anyone?
I also found a couple of long-distance Craigslist ads to taunt me:

Who needs this many frames?!?

I've been wanting to do a straightbar build to replace my cantilever rider. I found the tank, now I just need the rest! :D
Here's the tank:

Found a tank, but now need the ballooner bike/frame to build it on. Original paint only (this will be my rider). Ideally include a truss fork, balloon fenders, seatpost, stem, and 1/2" pitch crank. I already have the seat, pedals, chainguard, bars, grips, wheels, and tank. Looking for the "sky"...
Ouch
I was kind of afraid of that. Seems like most people who won't name a price don't really know what they have. Thanks to everyone who gave me the scoop on this one--the CABE is the best.
I'm hoping someone can give me a little help with this one. The seller is only taking offers and I have no clue what it is or what a respectable offer would be. I only know that my curiousity is piqued and I need a winter project.
Here's the candidate:
Any info would be greatly...
Looking for a deep 24" non-peaked rear ballooner fender. Monark, Higgins, Schwinn, etc. Painted or chrome is fine, but would prefer something that's pretty straight. See pic for example. Would also consider fender set. Thanks!
Looking for a chainguard like this (not my pic):
I need the longer one that attaches at the rear dropout. Will be stripped so color/paint quality is unimportant, but it needs to be solid and straight. Cash or trade:
