My wife tells me that Sunday is the Phoenix / Tempe area marathon... a lot of road closures etc. If you stick with that venue people will need to study the maps to figure out how to get here. :)
The Cruiser is 1 step up-market from the Flying Ace. The fenders are wider & fuller, the braces are curved (as said), the stem is more deluxe, the seat is more deluxe, the headlight is different (fat and squarish), and different style handlebars.
Laughing out loud here... my own "old POS" is sitting out in the driveway... Josh, @iswingping , did you get a pic of the junk yard dog laying on the top?
Big thanks to Frank & John for coming out. It was good to see you again. Sorry I couldn't stay the duration.
And a special big thanks to any and all who take and post pictures!

Great Day! And great job with the pics. Thanks Jarod :)
... As for the car being out in the driveway... it's a long story... involving a water leak... and water damage to the structure... and mould... ...:(
... and besides... she's a good dog... :)
DANGER! DANGER! WiII Rogers...
The Marathon is this AM. There are road closures in the central areas. I attached a link to the marathon route and the road closure schedule.
While the marathon provides additional attractions, you may find it a major challenge getting here by car...
This is one I put together for my daughter - a 1955 Schwinn Starlet. The chain ring is not original, but who could resist? The pedals are Schwinn bow pedals from a '59 Corvette - a nice deluxe upgrade. The tires are the Columbia repros available on Ebay. The basket, recent bike shop fare...
@cds2323 - Would you honor me by adding this to your fine resource? I found this photo, dated 1941, in my wife's family photo stash, (but she doesn't know who he is...) Your classic Birthday or Christmas "new bike pose"...:)
For some time now, my start page(?) has included a band of images at the top called "New Gallery Uploads". I honestly do not know if this is a feature of my configuration or if it is universal to everyone. In any case, it is a tremendous enhancement to the site. It is in fact the highlight of...
I think, sometime after 36, Colson switched from 3/4in to 13/16 seat tube I.D. ...but they continued to use the 3/4 in seat post ...so the shim is whatever is necessary to span the gap...
A rare one of a kind, Colson straightbar with the turkey wing chainguard? ...Um no, this would be a "phantom". I bought the 37ish Colson 20in tall frame from a local because I wanted to try out a big-boy frame. I had stashed in my garage a girls 40ish Colson snap-tank style bike. By...
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. :) Here is the "Fisk Tool" chainstay straightener... every bit as effective as the Park, more flexible, and lower cost... ;)
I mocked this up for you. I usually use a large "pipe clamp", on a large 6X6 post timber laid across 2 saw horses. But...
Heat will do more damage than good. These items are made of "mild" steel which is shockingly soft and maleable. Take your time and think about it... "Act in haste - repent at leisure"
I have never sanded between color coats on a sprayed finish. You are probably going to use an "enamel". If the only shortcoming with your final color coat is an "orange peel" texture, then you can "color sand" and buff, IF the paint has hardened through.
Just for the record; I honed my painting skills in the '70's.... if you like you can think of me as an old curmudgeon...
"Clear coat" is over used, over hyped, and the object of unrealistic hopes and expectations... The quality of the final finish will be a product of a smooth...
I would be skeptical about '37 and inclined to think '39. That is why I am asking. Just for the record - there are what I think to be a few errors in the polizzi book. He identifies some bikes in the book to be 1937, whereas nothing I have seen leads me to believe it. Maybe someday I'll...
