I still have this bike. I haven’t messed with it in years but it’s safe in my shop.
Been busy with a different job and picked up a few old cars to tinker with.
Just don’t come here as much as I used to.
Engine has been completely overhauled and test fired on an oversized carb but still haven’t...
I don't really think I want to sell it just yet. After what I spent on that little engine I'd like to find a carb and take it for a spin at the very least...
Yep, that's right Brian. I've been well, just a little busy. I also had an opportunity on an old car come up that I couldn't refuse. That pretty much wiped out my old bicycle funds for a while... How have you been? Have I missed anything of note?
Still nothing new to report 3 years later. So far the search for a carburetor has been fruitless. At this point it doesn't have to be correct, just something that will run.
An older gentleman dropped by the shop the other day, saying he had brought some things for me.
I guess it's finally getting around that I'm into this stuff...
He said he had one more motor that he hadn't found yet, which would make sense, as there is two of everything else. This stuff is...

He isn't kidding.
I would definitely be interested in a correct fender and headlight for the bike.
I'm currently still trying to find a carburetor that will work.
So far I'm not planning on selling it, but I haven't ridden it yet either.
But riding an unregistered, unlicensed, uninsured rickety old motorbike that goes way too fast for what it is, wearing nothing more than a t-shirt and blue jeans is half the fun of a whizzer. ;)
What were the thread specifications for the standard brakes back in the day?
I know ND used a proprietary one, but what about Morrow? Bendix? Musselman?
I'm just trying to figure out if there is any compatibility between the nuts, or if axles could be swapped in a pinch.
I don't think humanity could have made it this far without it.
That stuff has fixed many a cracked block/radiator/gas tank.
I ran that motor a good 4 miles today, pretty much WOT the whole way.
I think this will work for now..
No luck with the motormaster yet, I have too much carburetor...
I'm eyeing the carb on this rig though.
Looks like it could be compatible.
(I wanted to work "evinwon't" in there, but it just didnt sound right...)
Is the pin stripe supposed end for the truss rods or the fork?
I've seen them run continuously on original paint bikes..
Or maybe I just read this wrong.
Came across a Travis, quite by accident.
It's been pretty dry bike-wise out here, so it was a pleasant surprise. It took a little epoxy to get it running again, but it runs good.
For once I just had to put gas in something.. didn't touch the carb or the points, it just busted right off.
On...
Everything is intact, it's like its been epoxy'd to advance or goofball it further than usual, possibly because the flywheel magnet is in a different place
The flywheel is from an R.E. Phelon Co. motor. Never heard of them
Looks like someone replaced the flywheel, which would be why there is some or of epoxy holding the magneto adjuster in place...
what an odd thing to do, I'll see if I can get it off and get a different keyway cut into it or something to line the timing back up. That epoxy is not going to last...
I just happened across this little guy today, it wasn't stuck and seemed to have good compression.
Any guesses as to how old it is, and what may be missing?
Standard spokes would probably be a bit narrow.
What I would do is ask around and try to find a coaster hub shell (thats the same make as you already have) made for the heavier gauge spokes, and ream the wheel to match. Then lace it up with some .105 or .120 gauge spokes.
It's pretty easy to put one together as long as you have all the pieces.
I built mine out of parts, which allowed me to build one exactly as I wanted.
I am running .125 spokes in the rear wheel, but I have heard you can get away with the standard ones.
Personally, I wouldn't go below .105's.
This is how it sits currently...
It tries so hard to run, I can pedal it all around and it will putter right along. You can tell it is propelling the bike some, but there is no power at all.
I figure it must be that the carb is too big, thats really the only explanation.
It looks huge...
Finally got it to run predictably by closing the idle circuit, opening the main, an using the choke to control speed.
Worked suprisingly well.
Obviously this is not right, but I'm getting somewhere...
Sadly, as soon as the camera came out, it decided to quit.
I've reached that point of...
Does anybody want a motormaster?
I'll trade it for a nice whizzer.
Seriously though, this thing does not want to run.
What I would give to have a way to spin this motor without having to push this bike around...
