March 1st Eden swap & show
I'm going to try to get up there. I've been a couple times and really enjoyed it. Hope the old guy with the burgers and hot dog trailer shows up.
Here's a shot of my current fender. It has lots of rust pin holes and does not have a flattened area for the delta torpedo light. I'm looking for one that has the fender light indention and hopefully not rusted out. The fender is about 35 3/8" long measured on the front peak to the back peak.
I bought a tiny monkey wrench at a flea market years ago and not until seeing one hanging on the top bar of a TOC bike did I know what they were used for.
My '38 does have a slight peak most evident at the top of the fork. Upon closer inspection, the bracket that holds the strut is a triangle on the '38 and not the two straight pieces.
Colson fork/truss
I have the same fork on a '38 Colson Sentinel.
This ad is supposed to be for 1938 Colsons
This photo of a snap tank has the same fork.
Could these forks be used until stock was gone ?
Thanks for the response. The bike is not mine but is for sale. The owner wanted $750. Then after a month or so went down to $500 and after I made an offer around the actual value the owner said that $375 was the absolute bottom dollar.
I'll be passing on that one.
I could use a Colson (1938 snap tank) peaked front fender that has the mounting area for the fender light. I got one with pin holes rusted in it and no provisions for a light but I would like a better one before I start painting. Thanks for any help.
I think that it is possibly a 34-36 Shelby that is supposed to be OG paint. Didn't these have a drop stand instead of kick stand ?
This is the only picture that I have. Thanks for any help on the ball park value of this Shelby.

Mr Columbia might be able to help if memory lane can't.

Chain tread white walls
I ordered a set yesterday evening off Ebay and can't wait to get them.
Couldn't you put an ad in the Cabe for sale section ? It would save you those Ebay fees.
Looks like a dzus fastener to me but it's hard to tell on the photo. Google it or here's some on ebay.

I googled the reflector and your (Daves) ad came up where you had sold one. I have seen these before but since my Colson started life as a cheap model...old style truss rods and no chain guard Sentinel , I have added some Colson bling with the tank, chain guard, rack and torpedo light. But I'm...
I knew that the cabe folks would pick up on that. The 38's were skip tooth but since it's going to be my rider I chose to use a Colson Clipper ring for the 1/2" pitch. The appearance (3 paisley design) is the same but easily found chains for cheap. And I think that you, Dave, are somewhat of a...
I usually keep tires inflated to specs or slightly above. The heavy duty tubes are a little thicker to help with puncture resistance. The tires would be more prone to a blowout if extremely over inflated. Seems to me you need to get a different tire instead of a different tube.
I put this question on two forums and the consensus seems to be 1935 and one of the early 26" bicycles. Thanks for all the help guys. Anybody got an approximate value as is ?
I posted this in general discussion but maybe this is a better place to find out. I have been searching and my"guess" is that it might be late twenties possibly a CWC or maybe a DP Harris built bike that may have had 28's and somebody switched to 26 with 30's-40's double step wheels. I am not...
I don't have a picture but the Colson adjusters are just under 1/4" in diameter and should be about 2 1/4" long with about 1/4" unthreaded small end and a square head. The threads are the finest used by any maker and should be 32 threads per inch. The bolt is a #12-32.
Thanks for any help that...
