Found a local '64 Collegiate with a kickback rear wheel and an 80's springer. Am wondering if these bits will fit the typical Cantilever frame.
I realize the rim is far too narrow so obviously the hub will have to be laced into an appropriate rim, but does anyone know if they share the same...
Recently acquired a Cruiser 5 speed, serial number 3114 stamped on the name badge which I believe makes it a 1984. If this year is correct wouldn't that mean this was not built in Chicago? Perhaps the Greenville plant? The frame lacks the smooth joints that are typical of Electro-Forging as...
Hi all, just picked up a nearly new Clairmont for cheap but have discovered that both axles are bent. Called Schwinn and they told me that I'd have to buy new wheels for more than twice what I paid for the bike!
My question is does anyone know a source for replacement axles? These are 26" rims...
Reposting in this forum as I haven't gotten a definitive answer
Just picked up a twin tube Huffy frame that appears to have been either a Slingshot or Rail. The serial number doesn't correspond with any that my Googling can come up with as it seems to lack a couple of characters. Have...
CWC Shockmaster fork question
Just picked up this fork (irony of ironies, it was laying on a fork in the road) and am missing the top bracket for the truss rods. Does anyone have one or know where I can borrow one to copy?
Also have a question as to which way the springs are installed. You'll...
Just picked up a twin tube Huffy frame that appears to have been either a Slingshot or Rail. The serial number doesn't correspond with any that my Googling can come up with as it seems to lack a couple of characters. Have carefully scrutinized the left drop out and all I could find is 131051...
Actually last night was my Sunday as I picked up this cutie. Serial #9250 (does anyone know what year or model that is?) Besides the springer and front rack the really neat thing is that it has a front drum brake...don't know how rare these are but am digging it. The kickstand is worn down like...
Any help much appreciated. The one with the round enclosure is a JC Higgins but what year(s) and models did this come on? The silver one sure look familiar and I'm sure there must be several CABErs that know. Please share with the rest of the classless class. Thanks!
Here's an interesting early Yamaha bike:

As ads get deleted fairly quickly I'll post the copy below less the phone number so as to prevent the seller from being bothered with calls in the distant future (long after the bike has been sold)...
While I'm disgusted with the fact that bicycle shaped contraptions are made by Chinese owned former American brand names such as Schwinn I can't help but wonder how miserable they truly are.
Of course they pale in comparison with ones built in the US but taken on their own merits how poor are...
There are two separate auctions by two different sellers offering THE SAME BIKE!! They're both in New Jersey so either these sellers are the same and playing games or one of them is messing with the other.
Look at the garage door behind the bike, IDENTICAL!!
Auction 1
Auction 2
Pardon me (and my sarong) if discussing a modern bike is verboten but I'm digging these two models, anyone else?
I would like to find a cheap Bonneville to cobble up, this shares the same frame with the Deep Six...the tank area on this frame has a nice sweeping arch unlike their other cruiser...
Some of you wooden teeth wearing chaps may be able to identify the fellow in the below pic (I'm a big fan) but can anyone identify the make/model/year of the bike?
Found a deal on 3 bikes, seller wants to sell them all as a group. Am only interested in the Spaceliner. The other two are a Columbia and a JC Higgins. Not sure which is which nor what their values are. He's asking $345 including 2 extra sets of wheels (one set is the correct for the Spaceliner)...
I hope you fellers ain't nearly as tired of hearing me blather as I would imagine you are :p
Was wondering what is the widest that can be mounted on a rim that originally came with 26" x 1 3/4" tires. Reason I ask this is because I'm sick in the head for those solid white balloon(?) tires but...
Does anyone know for sure whether a Spaceliner tank headlight bezel is interchangeable between either a girl's and a boy's bike? Just won the tank in the below link but it lacks the light housing. There's a girl's light listed but I suspect that it won't.Thanks

Is anyone familiar with this place? It was on the border of Greenwich Village on I think 13th St and around 3rd Ave. (east side). They later moved to 14th St way over on the west side near the meat packing district and even sold Lionel trains from this location. Presently there's a shop with a...
I've seen some comments that Murray bikes were built only to last a relatively short while as they were a lower quality compared to Schwinn. Does that ring true or is it bicycle brand racism? (Brandism?)
Please understand that my question is as simple as it appears and that I have no agenda...
Here's the heap I picked up on Sunday at the Seattle bike show. Some may be critical of the rust but that's the only thing holding it together! And yes, the rear fender IS that dark (with rust).
Can anyone tell me what style tailight this originally had? I've seen some with 2 reflector jewels...
