Those look great, but I'll be honest.. that's a lot more than I paid for my last set, and definitely more than I'd like to pay at the moment.. that's not to say that I wouldn't bite the bullet though.. I appreciate the offer. I'll double back if I can't find a set more suitable to my needs...

A bag that could have been used by USPO is what I was trying emulate. Definitely digging how it looks, and it will come in handy at the Long Beach Swap. Thanks for the compliment!
Well folks... I went a bit further with this. I've been wanting a canvas bag for the basket, luckily, I have a wonderful girlfriend who happens to be a seamstress and took care of that for me. I'm definitely digging it, I think it adds to the utilitarian look.. or does it?..lol..
Finally gathered all the missing parts for the '39, and this is what it will look like for now.
Full restoration is the plan, but I won't get to that for a while.
First round of parts back from a fresh Chrome bath.. Had all hardware for the springer, and head set done. I went ahead and started partial assembly of the bike.
Well... the clear coat can sometimes react to the pinstriping enamel.. and esthetics mostly, I feel it gives the paint job a more authentic look. As far as I know it was the way it was done 😊 oh, and thank you.
Made a little progress over the weekend, I had the Lincoln pinstriped. After going back forth a bit, I Decided to go with a red enamel, rather than black. I think the gamble paid off and I'm loving the look of it! 😊
I would say yes.. I love the look on the fork on your '38, I didn't even know this version existed. I've only ever seen it with the straighter legs. My guess is that's the original design, and it's why it looks like the springer on just about every other model. I have a '39 with the other...
That's a beauty! I have 41 Autocycle which had both front and rear Chops. I pulled the rear off and swapped in a New Departure for that very reason.

Quick update.. Repro Decals from Bicycle Bones arrived today, along with a few parts I ordered.
The frame and tank are ready for clear, but I still need to do some tapework on the fenders and fork for the 2nd color..
Here's the start of yet another project, and I'm thinking you might like to go down this rabbit hole with me.😆
We're building this one for my girl, as an opposite to my '37 Caddy DBR.
heres what I started with..
Was lucky enough to find a tank at the SoCal Cycle Swap.
Thanks to the wanted...

I'd love to have that basket on one of mine.. it definitely holds value, so if I were you, I'd keep it and hang it up somewhere and run the large wald.
You can find it on Amazon 😉
Here are the standard size Schwinn basket on the left and "Wald" on the right, for size comparison.
