i think i know that bike. does it have the peanut tank on it? it's listed in the 1961 price guide above a hornet, and below a corvette. single or two speed only. i bet it would have had painted fenders. let's see a pic.
1951 phantom
here is my 51 phantom that i have been working on for a couple of years. pretty rough when i got it. the tank is a repo, as is the crank arm and the taillight. found an original seat(thanks hzqw)and light cover. still need an orig stem for it. i have the key for the locking...
i've got one of the chinese ones. it's labeled phoenix. it's a single speed with a freewheel. i picked it up at an auction. it rides great and flies down the road.

thanks. unfortunately, i haven't even touched it since i posted these pics. i did find a bolt, and a leather tool bag for it. still need tires. it also has the most uncomfortable seat i've ever ridden on, i'll have to swap it out to go riding.

and looks like it is handstamped.

the rims do not match. the rear has a new d hub. i think the rack is a colson? nasty patch job on the seat stay...
