Im a big fan of this bobbed rear fender look, I noticed in this pic the rear fender is bobbed but also curled.
any advice as to how this is done?

my 'locknut" on my 71 Colligate, from the rear derailer is stripped. the threads on the both pieces are toast.
Its the half nut and bolt that holders the rear derailer in place.
I was going to try and find a set online but wondering if that is what its commonly called 'LOCKNUT'?..thx
I have noticed the last few replacement tubes I have bought all come with only the new scrader valves. I know my new bikes have them, but it seems like this is the way the industry is going.

Curious what you guys use for chain lube...just replaced a chain and rear cog that was severely worn due to no lube and the lubes im looking at are very expensive for a little bottle. Is there something that cheap and works just as well?

Are 26x 1 3/8 and 26 x13/4 tire almost the same tire..im assuming wider?....I presently have the 26 x 1 3/4 off my 71 colligate but found these 26 x13/8 at a second hand store brand new...I checked the sheldon brown site and they both have a ISO of 597, whatever that means.

I want to disasemble and grease my bearings, can this be done without removing the cassette? I started taking it apart but the nut is recessed inside the cassette.

The brother in law has a old swing bike from the 70's.....anyone know how rare these are?....it looks basically like a muscle bike, small wheel on front and a larger slick in back and has a pin that disconects the rear wheel so it pivots freely and you can ride down the street with your front...
was thinking of leaving the fenders off the bike as I like the look,this gives me a lot of clearance now but i have been told only the 24 x 1/34 tires fits my rim.....is there any tire that is higher that will fit the original rims?

Im thinking of opening up the crank assembly to grease the bearings and im wondering if the
bearings are caged or loose?...I have been pouring oil into the side and letting it seep inside...is that good enough? or should I open it up and check the grease?

So I believe ive finally got a handle on finding replacement tires.....the only tire that will fit my S7 rim with a 24 x13/4 Tire is a new tire that is 24 x1x3x4 but im wondering about the term Schwinn specific...what exactly does that mean?.....I have found tires made by KENDA in this size but...
Can someone explain these to me....from crusing the net I have seen them talked about in many differnt sizes 20,24,26...what makes a S7 A s7 rim...is it the width 1/34?...if so then could I not put a 26 inch tire on my S7 RIM although it presently has 24 x 1/3/4?
