Rims, rims, rims, prewar…I might need a nut, a spring, a spoke…enough to go around the block and back again! I tried to sell them at the Turlock swap meet, but only sold one? I guess they’re not worth much anymore???
These bicycles are works of art! Mine has never rolled across the ground and has only been hung on the wall and displayed in a museum. Thanks for taking us along your journey.
With peripheral neuropathy from chemo I put together a bike I could ride from pole to pole. My feet are like walking on tennis balls and they slip off the pedals.
70 years ago at my grandparent’s vineyard in the California Central Valley. The bicycle had 2x4 blocks on the pedals and with a back porch step up I could ride!
Sorry no pictures… but I’ll be bring pre war rusty rims, fenders, a couple of slide seats, a complete 1937 Schwinn girls project, 1936 Rollfast boys project, 1939 Mailman pull cart, 1940ish girls Manton Smith, hard rubber boys 16” boys project. TOC lamps, seat clamps, and collectibles. Badges...
Cleaning out a 20’x30’ storage of mostly 30’s to 50’s rims, parts, frames, and bicycle projects. Lots of patina (rust?). Old bicycle lanterns and flashlights. Some collectibles and car accessories. Thanks for sharing the map!
Jon
Yes, 6 rounds of chemo, 4 operations, 20 radiation treatments, 6 BCG installation at Stanford Medical. I found out yesterday I’m cancer free! Now I’m fighting the VA over my Agent Orange exposure.
Cancer has left me with peripheral neuropathy and the loss of feeling in my fingers tips. I just noticed that I have not even tried to attach the badges to my last three bicycle projects? Let the buyer do it!
My childhood Schwinn was a 24” coach green with no extras! So when I started collecting an early coach green Phantom rider was a “personal” choice! I’ve kept the old parts but have mixed in the ‘95 easy to find replacements and a 2-speed Bendex. It’s an easy rider and a conversation starter.
Just finished talking with Tyler about our spaces and I will be bringing a complete Schwinn DX, DX frame, Schwinn cantilever frame, Prewar/Postwar parts. I will also have 1990 Cannondale
complete road bike, rims and assorted parts.
I just finished chemo at Stanford in Palo Alto, California and it works(Stage 3 to Stage 0)! I worked on bicycle projects, when I could. There were good days and bad and I just threw the clock out the door and worked through the night if I felt well. My prayers are with you.
Stay safe,
Jon
Nothing will keep me from this one! The best in the west! You will find what you’re looking for and sell your bicycles and collectibles at a fair price!
My Electra “Street Rod” is my go-to beach ride. The central coast of California has a mix of flat to hilly terrain and this 5-speed just makes it fun. At 25 years old a little oil and air for the original tires is all that it has needed!
I’m going through medical issues and won’t know until the last minute if I can make it to your swap meet. My son says he will drive me if there will be a selling space available. This meet looks like it’s going to be “epic”! I need just a 10’x10’ pop up space and parking for my Silverado, can...
Just a bunch of parts and frames. The DX is modified for a Whizzer motor. The “Phantom frame?” is a 1952 which takes an early badge. The girl’s is “Pink!”, but has some good stuff still left. The delta “shell” is perfect.
This saddle was on my Racycle when I found it. I’m looking for a catalog picture so that I can name and date it. Would it be appropriate for my Racycle? Thank you ahead for your time.
My first swap meet, (Long Beach, California), I thought I was going to be a bicycle collector/seller when I sold a $25 thrift store bicycle for $700! It was a rusty old bicycle but it was the smoothest shifting ride I ever rode. That bicycle was a 1934 Colson Hi-Lo 26” ballon two speed...
I go to a lot of garage and estate sales and always ask if there’s any bicycles even if they’re aren’t any for sale. I’ve been tapped on my back by an old man that said “I have some rusty junk”, to an owner of one barn sale saying “l have a POS in the pump house”. Always ask out loud and follow...
