Ive had this Hornet for a few years. When i got it I immediately put S-2s on it before i ever really rode it. I recently put the S-7s, that came on it when i bought it, back on. Although i felt the bike was largely unmolested, i was surprised how far back the rear wheel sat, so i removed a chain...
A friend of mine acquired this beast as you see it. Although a rare frame, nothing else is original. So before he does any further mods that may include changes to frame, he wanted to make sure its not particularly valuable. Opinions?
I had a nice find Saturday. The marketplace add appeared and I called fast! I was at work, so Kstone and her BF were kind enough to grab it for me. At 8pm I had an inspiring idea to prepare it for Sunday's ride. So I stayed up til 12:30am and resumed at 7am. She was kind enough to be the rider...
55 Hornet. Converted to Springer from blade. Apparently mounting hole in different location, not to mention indents. Not lookin for a gorgeous nos piece. See pic for general condition...... ratty
Not really Bmx but figured the Bmx foum was closest. Thought this pathetic thing was pretty funny so I gave goodwill 5 bucks. Seriously.... the Dude?!?! Anyway, I gave it a bath and new tires and discovered it's in excellent condition. The graphics reak of 80s or early 90s, but so far I haven't...
Picked this up at Butler PA show. It had incorrect make 24s, so i had no reservations about a quick swap to 26s. I know about the incorrect stuff, but it does appear to have orig crank, sprocket and handlebars. I believe its a 35, but ill hafta pull the massive kickstand, which i know is not...
Picked up this Hornet. It seems im into it for roughly the value of the tank, but its a little rough. I question the absence of a kickstand, and originality of gooseneck and handlebars. What say the experts?
Can anyone decode this? Also, can i get a little Rollfast background info? Neat story on this one... a bud of mine got this from his dad. His dad had it since new
Admittedly the patina called me to this one. Some kids vision of a hot rod certainly had him cruisin in style! I plan on keeping the paint job. Anyway.... frame is an odd unit. Looks like half Shelby half CWC, which would make sense if its indeed a 53, as the very AMF/CWC serial numbers appear...
I bought this at the swap today cause it looked cool. A little net research shows this is a BMX wheel. I couldnt find what era. Anyone know about Enkei Eagle wheels?
I've looked at several parts breakdowns that show I should have serrated washer that faces against this end. What the pics aren't showing is what the inside of that washer looks like. Is it just serrated or does it have protrusions that fit into the slots of the center thingy?
Found this peeking out behind a garage today. Definitely has some cool handlebars! Talked to my bud who sez no sign of any head badge mounting is a good thing!
My wife's Evans EO49493G26. Unsure on year. Family I got it from suggested 59/60. Hoping if a bunch of us post numbers that maybe we can learn to decipher them.
In the town I work in, we have an old school store that sells penny candy, slurpees, etc. They also sell basic bicycle repair parts cheap. Nice to get brake pads this price!
A few times now I've had to spread these to fit a different clamp. Just run a bolt or all thread thru the center with two nuts. Wrench the nuts out and that's it! No more swearing!!
this is my wife's cruiser. Very nice condition bike! I laced in a front drum and went with a smaller sprocket. She chose the red tires which accent the fenders nicely. I have no idea what year this is. Serial is E049493 626. Anyone have any idea how to decode?
A bud of mine just got this. It's rusty, but will return to the road. Unfortunately the serial numbers aren't legible anymore. I've searched pics thinking that style of skip tooth sprocket mite reveal a year, but my search was inconclusive. Note the rear fender brackets that attach to the drop...
My 53 superb fork is pretty tweaked. I can heat, weld and straighten, but my patina will be gone. So before I go that route, maybe somebody has one in this color?
I haven't been here in awhile. I was surfing here this am and forgot how much good stuff was here! Thought I'd share my Elgin Rat. Been wanting an Elgin for awhile, but they ain't usually in the budget. I scored this girls model dirt cheap. I quickley converted the bar, but heated and bent it so...
