I was able to acquire this Mark Wagner frame today. As a Kansas City area guy, I'm very pleased. It is pictured as I found it. It has a very odd mix of parts. It will be fun to “sort out” and “make it right”. I would love to know more about Mark Wagner. All I know is that he built some bikes...
Lots of patina as shown. Both cranks are marked PARAMOUNT. I'll pay the postage to a US address. Shipping to a US address only. Payment via Paypal F&F. Thank you for your consideration.
If I remember correctly, I looked that bike over for a REALLY LONG time at Memory Lane. It was an awesome machine Jim. Hate to see it all butchered up.
I’m looking for the two bolts marked AS for the clamp on a vintage Paramount track stem. The bolts as shown in this photo. If you have a couple of them, please send me a direct message with the price. Thank you!
Two weeks from tonight I am guessing there will be some happy people (what they sold and/or what they bought), some sad people (what they sold and/or didn't buy) and some broke people (cause they got a little auction "fever" and/or forgot about the buyers premium and tax). The Copake auction...
That looks like Georgia Pete's van...not Baltimore Sam's to me... These pictures are gong to be awesome/and bug me all weekend because I know I'm missing out.
Sorry to be "late to the party" in responding to this. I was home from Auburn for about 15 hours and left again for a 5 day ride in Michigan. I love being retired. Ha! YES. Auburn was great....if you like high-end road bikes (which I do). The Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum was amazing. I...
I am curious if anyone has information regarding the dating of this saddle. I assume a "Model 29". I found a few things online with other saddles by this French maker but not this one. Am I missing something? THANKS for any assistance.
locomotion....No. I don't ride this one. It's just too original and I don't want to put my big old body on that saddle or my weight on those lovely wood wheels. I am quite happy to have it hanging right here by my desk. (I do take it out to a show now and then.)
That’s just awesome. Love the white one too. Have fun decide if what to do with the black one!
I’m just fascinated by Goossens and have been a little frustrated not to be able to find out a whole lot about him. Even searched around quite a bit for him on ancestry.com without coming up with...
I would clean it. Obviously being careful around any decals. Based on advise I got from Richard Schwinn 15+ years ago, I then use a high quality automotive cleaner wax.
Great find. Enjoy it.
Next time you're coming through Kansas City, let me know. Would love for you to drop by or at the very least I'll meet you for some good KC BBQ. Bryant's is a classic, but some of these younger guys in KC are just amazing! Safe travels. Hope to see you in Ohio and Michigan in about 3 weeks.
I need a pair of 28 x 1 1/8 single tube tires for a Goossens track bike project. Prefer US Special Racers, but would consider others. Don't have to be "perfect" and will NOT be ridden, but have to look good for display. Thank you.
