Unless I make a post saying I'm not looking anymore, then I'm probably still looking - as I have been, off and on for the past five years.
I'm looking for a post-war Columbia Roadster. This is the single speed, coaster brake model (I will however consider any 1940s lightweight model). I will...
Wanted: Columbia Roadster.
Preferably green. Does not have to be complete, but need it to have all columbia specific parts in tact (fenders, chain guard and such).
PM me if you have one.
When you're set up in reply mode on the forum, scroll down past the "submit reply" button, and you'll see a section called "Additional Options" - there's a button that says "Manage Attachments" down there, and if you click on it, it will allow you to attach an image from your computer to your post.
I'm looking for either a men's single speed Roadster, any year, or the Sports Tourist, any year, in single or three speed form.
Preferably with a 30" or thereabout stand over height.
Let me know if you know of any for sale.
Thanks.
I think you're being paranoid. Most people take money from a checking account, and I doubt their bank is just going to take money back that they authorized to be sent through paypal.
And if they pickup in person and you have receipt of the transaction, it'd be very difficult for them to...
This thread is basically worthless without pictures.
Get us a picture.
There were a number of "airless" tubes and tires around at the time, but to the best of my knowledge none match the description you have given.
You cannot sell on ebay without using paypal these days unfortunately.
However, you can specify that the item is for pickup only, which would make it basically impossibly for somebody to scam you through paypal in the way you described - besides if they show up in person they may as well pay...
It'd be a 71. The BMA 6 sticker and the Bendix 70 brake would seem to confirm that it was made around that year. The handlebars art not original.
As much as I like the Columbia lightweights, I've only ever had one middleweight bike.
I would say that the bike should sell for between $75 to...
Well if it is worth anything, it'd probably be worth more with a little less dirt on it.
It's cool looking, for me that'd be enough incentive to clean it up.
Do you have a Schwinn you believe to be Italian?
Because I do believe none exist, but if you have one, I'd like to hear what why you'd think it was Italian.
Well it depends on who's buying, but anything from $25 to $100 is plausible for a bike like that.
I personally wouldn't pay much about that lower figure, but I also know from personal experience selling similiar bikes that there are people who'd pay around that high figure.
Well it was made by Murray. I can tell you that.
As to why nothing is published, I would guess that's because it's "just" a store brand bike, and that Western Auto also used a lot of different names for bikes that were nearly identical (ie, they used London Flyer and Sherwood Flyer on their...
I'd be willing to bet that the tag on it probably offered some sort of clue...
Beyond that, it looks like it as chain driven (seat stay doesn't appear to have clearance for a belt) - and the way the seat stays attach to the frame is pretty unique, and might be a giveaway to somebody who...
To the best of my knowledge the only bikes ordered by the Military from Columbia were heavyweights.
The R serial number would not seem to be correct, as it would indicate manufacture in 1950 - by which time this style of frame had been discontinued (last made in 47/48).
I have a feeling...
