Looks like the real deal with original paint. You got the holy grail of Krates. All I would do i detail the bike and leave it be.
Congrats on a cool find.
If you don' want it I will take if off your hands.:):):)

The Sprint sprocket is correct for a 1966 Fastback. The early Fastbacks did not have a slik on the back but both front and rear tires were the same. The serial number starts out with 2 letters, I can't read the first letter. But B is correct for 1966. The front fender should be a razor edge.
I swore I would never join Fb but when I found out how much was being sold thru Fb I joined and I'm glad I did. Very easy to post pictures and navigate between all of the bike sites.
The blue fastback has the wrong brake levers, front fender, derailleur, seat and pedals plus some that I missed. I would not pay more than $300, too many parts to replace to make it correct.
Some of the guys from St. Louis will be there. Myself, Mark and Rich. 2 Stingray guys and a balloooner guy.
Always a great time and I have found some very cool stuff.

Schwinn did not paint a silver base coat on the chainguard. The blue was painted directly on the chrome and then screened white letters. This is not original to the 67 Fastback.
Not sure I would pay $400+ for this one. It will take a lot of money in parts to get this bike to decent condition. The seat alone could cost $250+. Missing the chain guard is a bummer. Trying to find one is very hard.
Good luck
Dan
