It looks like the original red was painted over with the orange. The orange seems to be a lower quality paint and would be manageable to remove. Although I’m no expert and haven’t done that before.
Tank is very solid. What is shown in the picture is mainly dirt/dust that has accumulated. I rubbed an area off in the last photo to show how it will cleanup.
For sale is a 1940ish colson snaptank. The bike is mostly complete aside from the original pedals and rear rack. The tank is solid and is the no horn version. The wheels are colson with a rear morrow hub. Shipping is available for additional cost.

For sale is a 1936 womens silver king. This bike is seems to be very well preserved, hence both wheels being off the ground. Nice original leather streamline seat. I would say the tires don’t have too many original miles on them. I do have the missing green glass gem for the head light. Now...

For sale is a 1934/35 womens window frame silver king. It’s in pieces but mostly complete. The wheels are 24” triple drops and very straight. I do not have the guts to the front hub. Local pickup only at this time.
For sale is a 1940s colson clipper deluxe model with the front cushioner fork. The entire bike has been repainted at some point. The tank is very solid and straight. It does need a new set of tank screws (it’s on the list of things to do just haven’t made it down to the hardware store recently)...
For sale is a 1937/38 colson. The seat does have a broken upper spring but should be an easy fix. This bike seems to be original all the way down to the wheels and hubs. It has been painted over but I suspect the original paint is under all that green. Long pull Torrington scrip bars. Local...
Picked up this 1948 Hawthorne deluxe today. Funny story; I had a thyroidectomy today and found it locally on marketplace right before the surgery. I wanted to jump on it fast cause I thought it was a fair price and loved the Wichita license plate. So After I got out of recovery I Called my dad...
A friend of mine stopped by this morning to show me a “crappy old western flyer” he is restoring for a friend. Anyways this is what he rolled up with. He has the front fender and wheel in great shape with the badge on the front fender. As far as I can tell the tank guard forks and handlebars are...

And to answer your original question I will be fixing this one up for my wife and selling the other one I have. Let me know if you decide to keep yours or are interested in selling.
Thanks
Your model does not use a seat post clamp. Yours uses a steal sleeve and quilled seatpost so its self tightening. I believe @New Mexico Brant had some for sale but I'm not sure if he still has them.
Tis the season for loading up on summer projects. Silver Kings rarely show up around here so I was lucky to pick this one up from the original owner about 45 mins away.
Diving into some old Shelby posts I found this model depiction. Looks like a model No 30. Can’t believe I didn’t see this before. I haven’t seen too many of these out here. If you have one feel free to post it.
Hey guys. I picked this bike up a couple years ago and am just now getting to it. I believe it’s a 35 Shelby but I’m not sure if there is a specific model name etc. for it. If anyone has some info on it or an old article and such that would be helpful. Thanks
For sale are some of the prints I have collected. The larger frame dimensions are 17.5 inches by 23 inches and I believe these are original prints from the newspaper. The smaller frame dimensions are 9 inches by 11 inches and are copies. Prices for the larger frames and prints are $90 plus...
Hey guys I’m not into road bikes or lightweight bikes at all but this Raleigh was super clean and I was digging the accessories on it. Can anyone tell me maybe the time period it came from and why the value is on it. In my opinion this bike has great color and has been taken care of quite well...
