    I'm sure this question has been asked many times: So I picked up a 1940 boys and girls Schwinn, the girls Schwinn has a spring fork the boys does not. is there any hack to make the fork fit the boys bike? Cut the steer tube and rethread? Thanks for any input.

    Interesting stuff. Ill most likely clean up my original FD and see how it looks and then decide which one to use, either way ill keep the original for future projects. I find that the 64 sprint FD is as hard to find in good condition as the Huret maybe even harder.. Thanks

    The license is from Pleasant Hill Cali. if it wasn't half picked off I would have left it but I was successful at removing it with out messing up the paint.

    As found, kind of rare 1963 Sierra 15 speed in very nice original condition. Ill disassemble this winter and polish, re grease and replace a few wear items ( tires, brakes and so on ) if anyone has any NOS or Like new parts I may be interested. this one will be fun.

    I added new bar tape, buffed up the brake handles, matching valve stim flags are fun, otherwise as found/received. very nice original.

    Sprayed out some catalyzed red oxide primer ( better then the old primer they used back then ) and some guide coat so when I sand it I can see imperfections.

    Iv found that if I use my acetylene torch and warm up the center real good and then use the tool it comes of easily but other wise it just tears up the freewheel like the others said.

    1962 NOS Schwinn Corvette, found in basement of old schwinn dealer. It was missing a few small parts when I got it like cable clamps were not on it or not installed yet. still has stickers on stainless fender and sticker on stem. build tag is still on rear wheel.
