Sold the bike last friday, thanks for your imput. I pitched in a few rims, extra rear fender and strapped the chainguard back on for the $1200 selling price. The xtras were offered after we agreed on price.

Hmm. That's much lower than what I was thinking. just looking at past auctions on ebay for parts you couldn't piece one together for 700-900. original ww tires 40 Fenders 50 Frame 300 hubs 50...

I have an idea of value but I haven't seen ads here that list or mention what a particular item sold for. The good- Original frame. forks, cranks, sprocket, air cooled hubs, shroud (with switches). seat post, rack, battery pod for rack, rear lense, handlebars, gooseneck and fenders...

Are there websites or books (recent publications) to help with putting a value on a vintage bicycle? I know Ebay completed auctions can be helpful but only if the model you have was sold there!

I have a '67 Rams Horn and had a question about the bars. Did they come with grips or were they wrapped with bar tape when new? I've seen both and since I'm considering painting mine I might want to keep an eye out for the blue tape. Thanks

Chrome is all done.

Reinstalled the re-chromed cranks sprocket and seat post on the 4 Star. Getting closer to paint.

I don't suppose that Panther came out of Livermore did it?

I had my sprocket, cranks and seat post (Elgin Twin) chromed at Walkers Custom Chrome in Shasta Lake City (530) 275-3634 and was stoked at the results.

Should get a few parts back from the chromer soon then I can get to paint prep!

Both of the rims on my fastback seem to be out of round. I pulled them apart to clean and whe I relaced them they both have a "bump" in them that goes up and down when you spin the rim. Any idea if that is a spoke related issue? They don't move right to left just up and down.

Did the Elgin get sold?
