Very nice original paint, especially considering the year. Old repairs on handlebar stem & fork at hub mount. Newer grooved wood rims plus I have the original hoops. Can supply more detailed photos to whoever may be interested.
Just curious as to how many are out there. Evidently, when Colonel Pope initiated the big takeover of a good deal of the bicycle companies around 1900, he had these stickers slapped onto the seat tubes (usually). This one is on my 1901 Nyack bicycle. Anyone else have one?
Coming up next weekend and only 10 miles apart. I'm hitting them both, a little FOMO I guess. Then I'm going to Dixon's Muzzleloaders. Who's going & what are you bringing ?
I don't really consider myself a complainer, and always try to keep things positive, especially on this forum. I feel that after a six month plus odyssey of trying to get this project complete, I have to say something. Pictured is the 5 speed Nexus E bike hub as it is sold by Shimano. After you...
A friend sent me a couple of photos of a girls Shelby he saw at a flea market, I'm guessing. I don't know that much about them but thought that this head badge was pretty unique. Any thoughts?
From what has been popping up lately, here. Add to that, the sheer number and different grades of re-popped head badges out there. I remember being surprised at Copake a few years ago. That's where I bought mine, and let's not forget the chainrings. I'm going out on a limb here to suggest that...
Morrow eclipse, Chrome on shell worn, but the rest is nice, Higgins, nice just needs cleaning, N.D. is great condition. Needs crud removal, This one sold, others still available.
1917 to 27 non serial # Columbia 28" bicycle, nice rider. 2spd kickback w/ the nicest velocity blunts I've ever seen. Repop. handlebars & badge. No lens in light.
Just wanted to share images of some of my e bikes. On a recent post, a member said " and don't get me started on electric bikes and other such lazy endeavorers regarding cycling''. I'll start; Does that include all motorcycles?. Did people start bicycling because they were too lazy to walk...
Picked up this wartime CWC cycle truck frame at Copake this spring. I'm guessing that I started pulling it apart in June. The stem would not budge from the fork. There was evidence that someone else had tried to separate them earlier. Tried all kinds of penetrants, literally. Heated it, as best...
Have been wanting to take this to the next level, but realizing that it's never going to happen. A lot of aluminum on this one, 775.00 plus shipping or can deliver to Trexlertown or the next Dudley show. Has a repair on frame just behind chainring right side. Upper fork repaired inside head...
Village bicycle 213 Main St. Tuckerton, N.J. is sponsoring a free show & swap Sunday 0800 to 1300, May 26. I've been to this show a couple of times, it's not that big but some great stuff has shown up there. Will try to make it there myself.
Picked this up at Trexlertown yesterday, thought that the frame was a little unique. Showed it to a couple of very knowledgeable people there & they had no clue. What I do know, it has blackout hubs, Schwinn tires & maybe rims. One Schwinn peddle, Westfield chainring? Stainless front fender. Any...
I was recently contacted by private message, by an individual who also made a post on the Cabe about Nyack bicycles. Here are the only photos I have of the bike, it is currently for sale on Ebay , listed as Spaulding Nyack bicycle. The Nyack bicycle company operated from 1897 to 1901 when it was...
Nice driver, beautiful underneath, where it counts. Hardtop, original wheels & covers, steering wheel included. 100,000 miles, automatic. Photo's tell most of the story, glad to supply as many details as possible to serious buyers. 55,000
Picked this up in a lot of incomplete saddles, at I believe Copake, last year. I think that some of these old springs are pieces of art & will grab them whenever I can. I'm building a 1917-18 motorbike type frame into a E-bike rider. I've never been known as an absolute stickler for correctness...
Upgrade your base model Silverking. Fits my 1936 nicely. Add an LED setup & you can have a headlight & taillights. 225.00 shipped to the lower 48. PayPal add seven dollars for goods & services.
My wife has always liked a bicycle built for two, I never really shared the love. Lately though, I have been liking the Colson steer from the rear, she saw a photo of Norberto's at Trexlertown & loved it. Picked up this Crescent Model 25 at Copake. I think that it is extremely elegant & has some...
Got it up & running today (finally). Seven speed Nexus rear hub w/ drum brake. 750 watt front hub motor w/ hydraulic disc brake. It's got power, and then some, all wheel drive, if my legs can catch up. Hopefully my next Mexican beach bike.
Village bicycle shop is hosting a swap & show from 7:00 am till 1:00 pm. It is usually a small show but I've gotten some great things there. Good time also.
Frame was repainted w/ automotive lacquer ( I know ) however all original pinstriping remains intact. fork original, light, grips & seat were on it when found. Being sold w/out the pedals, wrench & light. Armless musselman hub, bike rides nice. New price, 975.00 shipped to lower 48. More photo's...
Original paint on frame, fork & rack. Tank & guard were partially repaired & painted due to battery acid damage. Automotive paint used about thirty five years ago. Fenders & rims were originally chrome plated, painted. Light added, originally had a rocket ray. Other than light, all parts were...
I know that there is a tremendous amount of talent on this site, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one known to scrounge, just a bit. Let's see what some of you have come up with. Here is a makeshift dust cover, nothing too great, but it's done the trick & it's color coordinated.
StevieZ posted this on Ratrodbikes yesterday. Had to take the liberty of putting it up here. This is a great show/ swap that ran for three years & is now back after two year hiatus. Always had a good showing & this time of year in upstate New York is great. Motels, camping nearby & the caverns...
May even be a 42, as there are apparently no head badge holes. All this for 200.00 shipped to the lower 48. Has been repainted at least a couple of times, re-pop tank. Realizing that I'll never have time to finish, good bones for a project.
Picked up this stripped frame from a well respected Caber a while ago. Saw something in it at the get go, but could never really place it. I've never been that quick on the uptake. Anyway, finally got around to it, as the seasons are changing, wanted to get it started. Painted it last week &...
Any three of anything will work, here's mine: Three turkey wings
The good, the bad, & the ugly. 1938 Scout, pretty original, 1941 Goodyear, retaining a modicum of originality, 1938 Firestone, fuggedaboutit.
Picked up this frame yesterday at Trexlertown. At a loss as to the year, model, and what it should look like completed. Any help would be appreciated. I'm a new convert to Schwinns.
Village bicycles is sponsoring a swap from 0800 to 1300 at 213 E. Main St. Tuckerton, N.J. I've been to it a few times before, it's small, but have picked up some really good stuff, had a good time & met some Cabers there too.
Wheelman lists the Manson bicycle company ( an offshoot of Fowler ) in operation from 1895 to 1900. There is a small 9 on the head badge, so, it's a guess on the actual year. Has a 1902-03 Morrow hub, complete w/ great teeth. This bike has a lot going for it, other than the hoops. What makes...
No serial #, I believe it to be somewhere around late 20's Silver Ring badged camelback Colson. Repainted close to original color, re-poped cigar tank, rideable grooved metal clads, retaining a good amount of plating.400.00 delivered to Copake or Trexlertown. 450.00, shipped to lower 48. As is...
