I would say the same thing to a collector complaining he can't find bikes, as I would say to the guy who hasn't had a date in 18 years......."Your standards are too high".
This may interest some ratrodders and non-purists........

I would say it is 40-41ish.....These pics are not my bikes and used w/o permission, but here is the rack you have. I plan to use it on a girls project.
pm sent.....it is made to mount to a fender, eliminating the need for the second fender brace. The fender would have one hole drilled in the center. This rack is hawthorne, but later than your bike IMO.
Late 30's Colson for sale. This bike rides well and is complete. The frame and tank are original paint. The rest appears to have been repainted. Lights outer ring has rust through, but the rest of the light looks solid. The bike is just as I purchased it several years back. I am no Colson...
I thought that bike went for what I expected it would.......I liked it(I'm not the buyer). Congrats to the owner. I hope they post the cleanup or resto here. Cheers!
1. I hope to paint/build a 37 zep I finally have all of the parts for.
2. Complete 2 other bike projects that are unfinished.
3. I also hope to stop buying bikes and have my 78 Westfalia rebuilt.
I know I saw these on the cabe, but can't find the thread. Does anyone know the person offering these d-cell discs, insulators, with hole in the center? Thanks for any help. Cheers!
"You can't have everything...and if you did, where would you put it?" - George Carlin. As for me, I'm trying to cool it. I have projects for the next decade. Cheers!
I have resolved to downsize..... Here is a nice condition American. I am told it is a 63, recognized as such due to the fender light. This bike has nice paint and chrome, as seen in the pics. The 2-speed bendix works as it should and the bike rides well. The horn and light are clean and...
this one is getting blown up on ebay.....I noticed the top bar has 3 tubes at the connection to the seat tube. It reminds me of Rustjunkies frame, but with a straight downtube. I'm hoping Scott chimes in.
I purchased this bicycle as a project for my GF from locomotion. He did the best packing job ever on this bike, and the transaction was smooth. If you are interested in any of his bikes, but have concerns about buying a bike from Canada, start a conversation with him. I have no...
=a bike every 6 weeks, or so? Wow! In 10 more years you could have over 100 bikes! I recommend getting rid of anything in there that isn't a bike. You have some keepers.
The early style, with ducktail front fender, flat braces, shorterin front of fork. The style that came with early fastback "zep" sport motobikes. Paint not important. Thanks for looking.
I do want to say thank you for putting a face to Phil Marshall for me. I have enjoyed his archived posts. Tell him that I hope he is well. He reminds me of a very good friend of mine, seeing him.
Wow, y'all'r right! I should feel honored that Leon took the time to insult a peon such as myself. I am going to find that vulgar, obscenity laced email he wrote me and have it framed right now!
So, I kept messing with it and for reasons unexplained, I felt the sleeve wedge itself on the post and it magicly is ridgid now. I will say that the post must be completely buried in the sleeve for it to find purchase, but otherwise, I can not explain it. During all of the failed attempts, the...
Has anyone any tips on how to get these to tighten properly on the seat post. First the post moved inside the sleeve, so i took a vise grip and crimped some slight "teeth" into the post. Now, the sleeve is moving within the frame. Driving me crazy, as the seat moves left and right, and I...
My 2016 calendar is lame. The images and bicycles I see from members on the CABE are superior to any bike themed calendars out there. Members could wave copyrights, then vote for a "bike of the month" for the following year. Has this been done before?
MRG, you have a cool frame there....are those fenders OG? If so, those fenders seem 37/38 or later, being longer on the front. As far as the thread is concerned, I don't care if you call them fastbacks, motobikes deluxe, zeps, etc. Just post 'em.
If it were the crank, wouldn't the chain tighten with every revolution of the crank? It seems to be sync'ed to every revolution of the chain. Could you have a frozen/damaged link on the chain that fails to mesh with the sprocket teeth that is causing this? I hope it's an easy fix, as I hate...
